BWP With Lower Door Chrome, Badges.

Hello all! Here is my 2015 TLX V6 Tech in BWP. I'm also new to the forum.

-Factory Decklid Spoiler
-Factory Lower Door Chrome
-Factory Type S Badging*
-Dipped Grille
-Dipped Wheels

*My last car was a 2007 Acura TL Type S in Moroccan Red. It was my absolute pride and joy. I ended up selling it three months ago... very sad day. I really wanted the TL's spirit to live on through my new car. Hence the badges. What do you guys think?

Looks awesome. Can you post pics of the wheels? Hart to see them because of the shadows. I also have a white V6, dipped my grille and sprung for the rear deck spoiler. I would consider the wheels too if it looks good. I actually like the Type S badges but some on here probably won't. Good to see your old car live on. I am coming off of a 2008 TL myself.

Not quite sure if you're going for the luxury or sporty look. Dipped grille and wheels say sporty but the chrome on the side says luxury. Not a fan of the type s badge since its not a type s. But as long as your happy... your money, your rules. Welcome to the forums!

I love the badges and pretty much everything else about your car. What % tint is that you have?

Yeah, I'll grab a couple shots for you. Haha, I hear you. It's very surprising...the badges are fooling a LOT of people lol. But I'm honest about it to anyone that asks about them. It's simply my 2007 TL Type S living on through my new car. She was my first transition into the Acura brand. It's a weird car love.

This is a very, very valid point...and I was thinking about that myself. I was thinking about killing off the dip on the wheels and reverting; but the black, white, and chrome theme is what's getting me. Thank you for the warm welcome! Been lurking for a while...but I'm ready to participate lol! I'm ready to take the heat for the badges.

It's 20%. Thanks for the feedback! Based on your avatar, you own an MDX?

Yep! That's my Gigi! However I am looking to downsize to a TLX soon. I just really don't need all the space I have in the MDX. Guess I should have thought more about that before I purchased it but i was sooo caught up in the whole "I want a truck so I can sit up high and see everything" hoopala that I didn't really think about that. I VERY MUCH miss being in a sedan. My driving habits in general are just inconsistent with having an SUV. I like something more quick and agile and fun to drive!

Anyway, that 20% is killer! Loving it!!!

Car looks so aggressive with the black grille. Looks awesome. Im still debating on blacking mine out but leaving the chrome trim.

Thanks you guys. Thinking about cold air intake & exhaust next...and maybe the aero body kit, but that might make the car look pudgy. I'm a novice when it comes to aftermarket. Any advice on what parts I should get to maximize performance and obtain an aggressive exhaust note?

Agree here, beautiful job but not a fan of the Type-S badges on a non Type-S car.

OP...Congrats! Car looks great and let me add my support for you to put the bodykit. I think it will make your TKX look amazing - I would remove the chrome strip though...that is my opinion only of course.

...and BTW, I love what you have done to your wheels.

Thank you Weather! Yeah, I wanted a clean look with the factory chrome. I'll take a look at the body kit!

Like the wheels man. Would you mind taking a few head on shots of the front? I'm not a big fan of the front grill and was thinking about doing exactly what you've done. Traded in my G3 TL on Saturday for a 2013 ILX and traded it in for TLX tonight.

Great job on the wheels, how does the product do against swirls and scratches?

As a former KBP TL-S owner, agree with the others that the TL-S badges need to go, not a TL-S, but to each his own.

Great work on your TLX!

Haven't seen any swirl marks on plastidip yet. I'm very gentle when I wash and wax them. A fingernail with enough pressure could potentially tear or scratch the dip. Then again, part of the reasoning I put dip on the wheels and grill was to prevent light damage most rock chips; etc could cause.

So Warrior, you came out of a TL-S too? Same year! Nice.

I'm gonna post some pics of the front grill as requested and a couple bonus shots of the lower door LOGO projector lights I just got.

Here's the thread and the ordering info for this modification. It's really cool and there are many projection images as well as a custom made option.
