Tuning options for TLX

Hey everyone,

I didn't know where else to go with this but I am seriously stumped. Does anyone know of any upcoming tuning methods for the TLX? I am planning on upgrading the J35 manifold to a J37 manifold/ throttle body. I might also try to swap out the J35 heads for some J32 cylinder heads as well. Maybe a cam upgrade

My second option would be to go the turbo or supercharger route, because as we all know, Honda engines really shine while under forced induction.

Anyway, my problem is that I can;t find any tuning options out there. Haltech doesn't have any EMS kits (frankly I don't think they'll be making one anytime soon), and I haven't heard anything from the Hondata guys about coming out with a Reflash/FlashPro for the TLX.

If anyone could shine some light on this for me that would be great

Thanks

Bolt-ons for now

You can reach up to 310ish hp max on Bolt ons with proper tuning. I’m at 300 with just a few items on my list to get. The 3.7 upgrade is a bit tricky so I’m waiting for someone to try and see.

This is for the HTSpec J37 conversion kit
Team Response:
You would use the top plate without the valve. We are not yet really recommending the TLX make the conversion to the J37 manifold yet because we don't have complete packages for them. There can be other install issues that may be hard to predict.

So 2 questions: What bolt-ons are you running right now?
Do you know what is being used to do the tune with the Dyno? (Hondata or a custom ECU install?)

RV6 precat delete & jpipe, circuit werks catback exhaust, injen cold air/ but setup for short ram. Tuned with ktuner v2. Result 300 hp to the wheels. Told my tuner I want all gas saving features disabled as well. Full v6 power no v4 transitions to save gas.

I have the same setup as MC_007, with K&N short ram.. so yea I would stick with Bolt Ons and Ktuner. Highly recommend the Pre cat deletes rather than the high flows..even though the high flows sound better.

I'm probably just going to start with an Injen intake and tune it with KTuner v1.2. Over time i'll save up for an exhaust and maybe some other bolt-ons. I seriously hope someone attempts the J37 mani swap, or even turbocharging the TLX's J35. Acura themselves even said the TLX has so much untapped tuner potential; we just need people to take the chance i guess lol
