If you zoom in more, it should show the street names

Hmm interesting, but if they're newer streets I can see why.
The factory navi is ancient by technology standards. Honestly I just stick to Google Maps on my phone. Only time I've used the car navi is when I'm coming back from a new area, but by then I'm fairly familiar with my way back. Only used it a handful of times in a pinch and mostly I find myself getting my phone out instead.

I usually don't get street names unless I zoom in further. But in general the system sucks. I use Google Maps and I tie in the voice prompts through the Bluetooth.

I think for folks who share your preference, Apple CarPlay and Google Auto will be a better answer. Why spend the money for an integrated system if you're fine with what the phone offers. For me, having to use the phone screen to see the map is a non-starter, but an integrated experience might work.

The turn by turn navigation works fine. Seems a bit silly to buy a car with built in navigation and then use the maps on your phone, but whatever works best for you.
