This is my 3rd. TL. The GPS has been very poor at best.I always back it up with other map systems like Goggle maps, IMaps or Waze.The 2016TL's GPS has better commands but very poor directions.Do not trust it! Example:instead of staying on a major Pkway., with no traffic- it takes me on side roads through the city in the opposite direction- Why?

Happens to me too. The reason is... it sucks. I noticed something started going off in the database a few years ago, like it doesn't realize that there is a left turn available, and to routes you way out of your way even though you could have turned. It just sucks and like more things Acura they just don't care to fix it. I use my iPhone and Google Maps mostly.

I don't bother touching the GPS in my TLX, its just garbage. It VERY slow, the directions are terrible, graphics look like they are from 1995. Just get a decent mount and use that. I use steelie and mounted it on the plastic trim near the driver.

I definitely agree that the GPS is crap! I'm driving my 6th Acura, currently a 2014 RLX. Same GPS as the TLX. I also check my trip routing with Google before I take off. When I veer off according to Google directions, and the Acura recalibrates, I notice the time and distance often decrease. No problem - I can order a "dvd update" for only $149! However, it still uses the same junky firmware and processor.
My service manager says every manufacturer works the same way. Really? Check out the competition: "All Genesis models (for 2017) will also launch with the brand's customer-service suite that offers conveniences like three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance and valet services, and three years of free connected services, satellite traffic and data, map updates and roadside assistance."
