How do Android phone owners do voice texting in TLX

In older TLXs (I have 2015), there is no Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Siri Eyes Free is included and I can do voice texting via Siri over BT.

How do Android owners do it? I’m considering switching from iPhone to Android but don’t want to be w/o a way to check/send texts while driving.

As far as I know you can't.....you can do on board voice command for stuff like phone call and such but texting won't be as simple as using Siri thru the car

The car can read texts out loud and you have some preset responses. No way to edit those presets.

Thanks. Guess I’ll stay with iPhone until I trade the car.

You download the google assistant app and it's the equivalent of Siri..no problems at all. If you decide to get a new android phone then go with the Google Pixel 3 as it already has the assistant built in.

So you’re saying that you can use the voice button on the steering wheel to access the Google Assistant and send new text messages?

I'm saying that you can say "OK Google" and and then tell it to text whoever you'd like in your contacts. It's the equivalent of Siri for Android phones but I prefer it better that's why I switched over to Android. Good luck
