3.5 mm auxiliary port questions

Hello all,

2018 TLX Tech and I use Apple carplay with my phone mostly but I also want to hook up an iPod as another audio source using the 3.5mm port which is inside the storage center armrest. The iPod connects with a lightning connector. Is there such a cable that will both charge and play audio when hooked up to the 3.5mm port?

i have found several cables with a lightening connector on one end and 3.5mm on the other end, but none give a clear indication if they charge AND play audio. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions if it works and the brand? Thanks

No, you cannot charge an iPod via the 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, simply install a phone charger in the center console, then attach a usb to lighting cable to keep the iPod charged. Finally, attach a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable to the aux port and iPod.

This is will require manual control of the iPod.
