When do the 2017's arrive?
I currently have a '13 Audi S4. I love it (transmission, quattro, power, etc...) but my $800/month lease is about to end (June). I had gone from an Integra --> TSX --> Audi S4. I'm considering returning to Acura (value/tech) for my next lease because the '18 S4's won't be out yet....anyone know when Acura usually releases the MMC? I'm hoping to get the '17 TLX.

^^ I am far from being an expert but if I had a guess, I would say that the MMC will be a 2018 model that will come out in the spring of 2017 (april-may) with the new Acura grill, dual exhausts, likely a sportier variant....They must or else.

2014- new
2015
2016
2017 - MMC
following that logic the TLX was released as a 2015 model:
2015 - New
2016
2017
2018 - MMC
There have been rumors about a type-S but nothing yet. A lot of folks have been looking at the new accords too. Knowing you have an S4, have you considered the new infiniti redsport? 400HP TT V6

The RDX 17 is out, but it is essentially unchanged from the MMC 2016. I would normally expect the 2017 in late summer or early fall, but it depends upon how many changes they make.

The rumor over on TOV is that we will see the TLX MMC this fall. I don't know if that means the car itself will be for sale this fall or if we will just see the design debut this fall at an auto show and then the car will go on sale early in calendar year 2017 as with the ILX MMC. I'm guessing the latter but if they were going to do that they'd probably release the 2017 TLX sometime this spring instead of waiting for fall. If that happens then I'm guessing the '17 TLX won't have that many updates.
Either way it does seem very clear that something is happening to the TLX probably in the next 12 months. Your lease ending in June isn't great timing as far as the MMC goes though.

I suspect that Acura will again make minor changes to the TLX to try to improve the IIHS crash test results. Hopefully, they will succeed this time.
Unless Honda's new 10 speed transmission is ready to do go by then, I doubt there will be any major changes for 2017. I am hoping for better tires and wheels on the 4 cyl models.

I never understood why Honda waits for year 4 in a 5 year model cycle to do the MMC- seems like it should be year 3 instead. Honda has moved quickly in times that it feels like a model is being threatened (2012 Honda Civic). The TLX is nowhere near as bad as the 2011 Civic was to the market, but it's not exactly setting the world on fire either and the competition is getting better every year.
I'm hopeful that Acura will do things quicker or it will lose an upgrade cycle for 3G TL owners with 8-12 year old cars that have not been compelled to 'upgrade'- this is me at the moment. There's potentially a full year of sales from that group of drivers.

4G TL ran for 6 years vs the 3G that ran for 5 years.
2G MDX ran for 7 years vs 6 years for 1G MDX.

The new info on the 2017 MDX has a sport hybrid SH-AWD and a 325 hp 3.0 DOHC engine. Yes you read that correct. They are bringing a new DOHC v6 back. Correct me if I am wrong but I only remember a DOHC v6 in the NSX in all the history of Acura.
Temple of VTEC Rumors and News - 2017 Acura MDX updated with available 325hp DOHC 3.0L V6 Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system!
Maybe they will put this engine and a new transmission into the MMC TLX??

I suspect that the MMC will come sooner on the TLX than usual. While it has sold fairly well, dealers in my area still have new '15s. This is pretty late in the '16 MY to still have unsold '15 cars.
The TLX was late to market by about a year. Tech wise, it's already fallen behind some lower cost cars including the Accord. The '17 Fusion Sport will not help matters any and has the potential to be crossed shopped against the TLX.
So, I think Acura will push the MMC up on the TLX to address these weaknesses.
I wish they'd bring the 6MT option back, but am not holding out much hope of that. The 3G TL hit a sweet spot that they've partially moved back towards with the TLX but still have a ways to go to get back to.

I think the MMC is will hinge on what they do with the transmission. If they are going to dump the ZF for their own 10-speed they either do it at the MMC or wait 2-3 more years and do it at the FMC. I'm not sure this car can hang on with the bad rep it is getting from the ZF. So they may wait another year to get the 10-sp in this car because I don't think it would be ready for a 2017.

The 2015's are on the lot because of the transmission. If Acura can't sell them how am I going to sell mine?

If they're showing the 10 speed to the press it may be closer to ready than we think.

Not all of the '15s are 9 speed. There are plenty of the DSGs too. Doesn't alter the fact that the competition is getting more intense and that's going to force the issue for them. They're under pressure to catch the TLX up. Otherwise, might as well get an Accord and pocket the difference.
