What happened in or around your TLX today?

I spent about 2 hours conditioning every square inch of plastic, vinyl, and leather in the cabin. Mind you my car never gets 'dirty', I just like keeping it dialed in perfectly. It's my moment of zen. Still loving this car after 1.5 months/2400 miles of ownership.

I took a girl out on a first date. We are both 23 and it was a blind date so technically never met her. I already knew the date was going to be a hit since the first minute of meeting her as I walked from her house door to my car door (yep passenger door to open for her like a gentleman) and she made a comment on how nice my car looked! Set the tone right then and there. Yes the date went incredibly well, Ill be picking her up again this week!

Almost got nailed by a speeding cop.
I picked up the car Thursday...would have really sucked.
I cannot see to my left because of an SUV there and I slowed down the video in premiere to check and it was less than a second from the time I heard the cop car until he was in front of me. He was moving pretty fast.

So I replaced my stock 17" wheels/tires with the OEM 18" V6 wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport AS-3 tires. Very impressed so far.
I apologize for how dirty the car/tires are, the weather here has been pretty nasty.

The idiot street department managers just chip and sealed my main route to work/town. This has now nearly tripled the time it takes me to get to and from work, but I do get to use the highway offramps so that kinda makes up for the extra drive. I love how sticky the car is when going around the cloverleaf.

And +1 on the weather. It's been like 5 straight days here in Greensboro and it rained the entire time I was in Durham over the weekend. Tuh.

YES! It's great. Almost makes me wish I had AWD just for the kind of stance the car takes cornering.
NICE! I've been mulling this over in my head. How much did the new setup run you?

For the 18" V6 wheels, I found a guy on Ebay who sold them to me for $725 cash, the tires I got for right around $700 mounted and balanced. I'm hoping to sell my 17" OEM wheels/tires for around $650 so all told I'll be out of pocket around $800 or so. I love the look and the Pilot Sport AS/3's are soooooooo nice.

Yeah, we had about two hours of sunshine today but now it's back to gloomy and dreary, plus with the hurricane I hear we are expected to get up to 10 inches of rain through Monday!

^accident repair....for the better kinda. no front plate bracket now at least.
humpty dumpty being put back together again
my buddy owns the shop that is more custom work than quick in/out insurance repairs. after he painted the new bumper i realized that honda didn't necessarily cheap out, but didn't paint the front bumper fully. i'm talking about parts that you don't see, or behind the black lower grills etc. the new bumper is painted so nicely.
also anyone else have this? when i got my car i noticed there was a noticeable (to me) gap between the hood and fender, greater on one side. well that was lined up better too (paint match was spot on aswell):

Looks like they did a great job - sorry you had to endure a repair so soon!

There were a few on Ebay when I checked before I found the ones that were local to me. We worked out a deal where I picked them up from him to avoid shipping which would have been around $80 by itself.

Just a quick stop while driving through the mountains...other than the 2-3 gear hard shifting, SH-AWD handles very well through curves and turns! And plenty of power to go uphill.

I'm going to Atlanta tomorrow so I'll be a little over 5K miles when I get back so I'll be stopping by there for my first oil change in the near future!

Found a new trunk release
By accident, I was fiddling about, the underside of the trunk lid on my TLX/SH-AWD/Tech, & voila, it opened. Never realized how easy & convenient it was. You have to keep the fob on your person, for it to work

I made a trip to New York from PA, a two hour drive, to meet myy cousin from Atlanta and some of her friends.
All of them loved my TLX, they specially loved the jewel lights, the interior, and the quietness.

My door seal is loose. Again. Third time. Back to the dealer on Friday! I just don't understand why it keeps coming undone. The weather is cold ... I'm not driving the car in any extreme conditions. I don't open and close the door all day. Blah. Becky's getting traded as soon as I figure out what else I'd rather drive.

I think there is climate control in your 350? I know Lexus doesn't like to get too adventurous with the "new" technology
Stay warm and safe!
