I have a 2016 TLX V6 and just took it to the dealer for transmission fluid change. I’m reading through the paperwork when I get home and the invoice says they used “ATF synthetic” . I know that the 9 speed trans uses 3.1 atf and surely the service tech at Acura knows this too… right? 😩 what are the chances they used the wrong fluid vs. invoicing it wrong? Aren’t the fluids different colors too (green vs red)? I even called twice before coming in to verify that $285 was the cost for the 9 speed transmission and they said yes.
😭
I'm not sure what your issue may be. Is it that the invoice states synthetic? If so, ATF 3.1 is a full synthetic transmission fluid. If that's not the concern, please be more specific.

Does 4 quarts of ATF 3.1 for $45 total sound right? That’s around $11/quart. After doing some research every other dealership chargers $200+ more for this service and the 3.1 fluid by itself is usually around $23/quart, which leads me to believe they aren’t invoicing for the 3.1 fluid lol hope this makes sense
Yeah, that seems a little suspect. Only the service department can confirm whatever the case may be.
I recently had my TLX V6 - 9 speed trans fluid changed at a local Acura Dealership. I was also surprised that the cost was only $249,
the cost per quart was right around $11 - Acura 3.1 trans fluid. Labor was only $160. They also replaced both plugs/screws.
