Trading my TLX
Having never driven a 4 cylinder TLX before, I went to two local dealers today and tested the new for 2019 2.4L A-Spec.
It was a revelation.
A much lighter feel than my 3.5L SH-AWD and I didn't feel that it was slow or under-powered.
I truly enjoyed it and wish that I had tried it 2.5 years ago and had saved 6 grand.
The original purpose of my visits was to try the new 2019 RDX.
I fell in love with it and bought a SH-AWD Tech model in my favorite color, Performance Red Pearl.
I didn't spring for the A-Spec because I'm old and still prefer chrome to black trim.
I never expected to jump on the SUV bandwagon but, now I've done it.
I think it's brave to buy a new Acura model in its first week on sale. I hope I have a better experience with the Honda 10-speed than I've had with the ZF 9-speed.
Wish me luck.

You’re not by yourself. I’m seriously considering getting a RDX APEC SHAWD. I’m wholly enchanted by the interior on that vehicle and the exterior ain’t that bad either. The paint quality is outstanding. Surprisingly even MSM works on the RDX with the Aspec wheels. I was actually leaning towards the Advance, but decided I didn’t want to spend the $3,000 to upgrade to the optional wheels. Damn those things are sweet.

The new RDX looks pretty sweet and I am impressed with what Acura has done. This is definitely a step in the right direction and hope it will continue out throughout their lineup.

Congrats.. Hopefully the QC is better on this than the TLX but in general QC are done by owners.

Acura has to get the RDX right. I am actually planing to test drive it and buy it next year (2nd year model). I'd still avoid first year model of any car.

Let's see some pics of the RDX!

I won't buy another TLX (although I really love my car) because buying twice the same platform is kinda against my religion.
This RDX leaves me totally cold. A mom-soccer vehicle dictated by marketing. No thanks.

For the the most part I agree. Took a long hard look at all the trims and it does appear they chose to mute the design of all, but the Aspec so that it didn’t come across as too sporty. The Aspec is sweet though. It’s the only one that I would purchase. An Aspec with all the Advanced features would be perfect.

Too lazy to go out and take a pic.
This is one from acura.com but, the exact one I bought.
Love it so far. Wanted Advance but, couldn't do the extra $5,000.
Also absolutely loved the 2019 TLX 2.4 A-Spec.
Can hardly wait for the all-new 2021 TLX in 2 years....

Just stopped at he dealership today to pick up my license plates.
My TLX is in the front court with CPO plates and stickers.
They did a nice detail and to my surprise, they took off my Continental DWS-06 tires and replaced them with brand new Goodyear Eagle LS (OEM )
I guess for CPO they want new tires but, I'll bet one of the techs puts the Contis on his own car.

Hmm...interesting that you say the 2.4 is great and not slow at all. I was debating on trading in my 12 TL AWS adv. for the 19 TLX 2.4L aspec but couldn't find much reviews online regarding that engine, 8sp dct, and PAWS.
Might have to go in and give it a test drive.

Absolutely test drive it.
With all the people coming in to see the new RDX, they would love the opportunity to demonstrate the 2.4L A-Spec TLX.
I was very impressed but, was going in a different direction (RDX).

I am in the market for Blue (Still night Pearl) 2019 TLX v4 ASPEC, but am not able get a firm price on it. Any suggestions if it is MSRP or over/under as 19's just started coming out?

They have to at least give you the $1,000 Acura loyalty rebate from the factory. I think it's $2,000 if you're driving a competitor.
I think better deals can be had as well.

Congrats. Very nice interior. Looks like they have gone German with the display screen.

6 Forward 1 Back
If you're planning to lease it there are $3450 in lease cash incentives from Acura currently. Dealer may or may not share that given '19's just came out.

Please make sure to test drive the 4cyl and V6 back to back. I found the 4cyl totally gutless. Sure, tranny shifts fast but you ain't going fast. To be honest, even the V6 is under powered.
