TLX Type S is coming
IMO,TLX type S should be named as TLS, and type R be TLR. Since currently all Acura models are ended with X, which actually doesn't have any special meaning. So name it as TLS is a good way to suggest it sharing the same platform with TLX but more Sporty (Just like S4 to A4). TLX type S is a little verbose.
I hope the TLS can be equipped with a tune-up 3.5NA, maybe the same as the one in RLX with 310hp (320 or even 330hp is perfect), and TLR with a twin-turbo 3.5L, around 420hp, and both have SH-AWD as standard.
If Acura is more aggressive, they can also try to modify the exterior and make TLS and TLR a four door coupe.
Another reason I think TLS and TLR are better names than TLX-S is the price range concern. A fully loaded TLX SHAWD is around 45k, so a fully loaded TLX type S will be close to 50k. It is much higher than the starting price of TLX (30k). Many customers just don't want their 50k car to have the same name and same look as a 30k car.
Using a different name and changing to a four door coupe might be a good idea to build an model standing above the TLX.

are you 10?
you and Davinci547 must be cousinz.
you must not know about Honda's Type-R heritage, sadly their present M.O. not a true sports sedan.

This is what is known as "branding" in business. So name it as TLS is a good way to suggest it sharing the same platform with TLX but more Sporty (Just like S4 to A4). TLX type S is a little verbose. SHAWD is verbose. So is PAWS and CAWCS, but Acura is doing it anyway. Grab the CAWCS with the PAWS and SHAW it inside.

I hope Acura can build any fucking car better than these mediocre shit buckets, but using the same engines isn't going to produce any progress.
If Acura is more aggressive, they can also try to modify the exterior and make TLS and TLR a four door coupe. A four door coupe version of a coupe that doesn't exist. Wow. May God have mercy on your soul. A four door coupe can't exist. Just like you can't exist without a rubber type of plug.

Using a different name and changing to a four door coupe might be a good idea to build an model standing above the TLX. Tell this to Mercedes and BMW. Cars with the same exact names get AMG and M packages. People don't give a flying crap about the name. They care about the car.

Cousins??????
I received the Caddy photo over 4 months ago and if you check Cadillac's website you will see the 2D coupe is now listed with wheelbase same as TLX. A rose by any other name is still a rose regardless of individual corporate platform letter designation; modular platform components are jointly engineered and designed with the automobile manufacturers by outside companies and many common sub-panels are stamped by these same companies. I still say you will see a 2D TLX in showrooms by next spring. The GWBP is universally sliced/diced and used by multiple manufacturers worldwide regardless of which axle pushes the car down the road.
maybe I was too rough on the beaver.. my apologies.. I usually roll with very knowledgeable members here and it polarizes my perspective.
Without writing a novel, a twin-turbo J35 with SH-AWD pushing 420.. for $5k more is simply a naive pipe dream. The transmission and AWD components simply couldn't handle it, lest we talk about the logistics of shoe horning two snail hairdryers in the location of the precats.. or putting them in some ridiculous area downstream like the exhaust exits.. also, seriously.. twin-turbo.. what are you trying to accomplish that can't be done with one? anyways.. I digress.
We're not even getting into the logistics of running pipe in either configs.. Assuming these issues could be worked out.. 420hp is some serious boost, do you seriously think the OE rods, pistons and ringlands will support boost at even a few psi for any considerable time? We're talking full top end build and tune. Then we get into finances.. lets assume Acura can do all this in budget, which they can't, they need a premium to support warranty work down the line.. let's not forget their adventures with boost the first go around.
Having said all that.. is an aftermarket turbo kit viable, maybe.. but you're better off spending your money the right way... on something else.

No I have no cousins on this forum. I may not be perfect but don't feel insults and sarcasm toward other people on this forum are necessary.

and this is why I insinuated that you're related to the 10 year old.
I doubt this ever happens. And if it did, to get a 6 speed manual version of the car will probably wind up costing you 45.000 dollars because you will have to pay MSRP for it because no one will have the manuals in stock. What made the 3G TL appealing is if you really wanted a manual you could get one in the 30K range.
You mistook it. I meant 5k more for a type S, which uses a tuned up 3.5L engine producing around 310hp.
Go back and read it again.

If u've never heard about 4-door coupe, go check wiki. I think for u, an easier way is to go to MB website and click Coupe, and find out how many doors are there for each car in that coupe list. May God forgive ur ignorance. lol
My problem with Acura used to be their new cars, but you've opened my eyes. The real problem is that they aren't naming the cars correctly and don't have a 4 door coupe in the line up. You'd better write a letter to the CEO with this crucial business-saving information!
Now don't I feel silly. Luxury sedan with coupe like proportions.
A coupé or coupe (from the French past participle coupé, of the infinitive couper, to cut) is a closed two-door car body style with a permanently attached fixed roof,[1] that is shorter than a sedan of the same model,[2] and it often has seating for two persons or with a tight-spaced rear seat.[3]

Indeed. The way I see Acura, they have made upscale Hondas since the beginning with a few Type S models and the NSX tossed in. The VAST majority of Acura sedans ever sold are base and tech models, not high performance.
I thought my sarcasm was obvious.

tasty
... I admit, I am right only 82.78% of the time..
