Same goes for the NSX. First off, no numbers have been confirmed. Second, it has that instant torque that the other cars will not. On paper it has less power, but in reality, it might not matter at all. I'm not saying car A will be faster than car B, or vice versa, but don't get hung up on "just 550hp".

The 1G NSX put out less power than it's Ferrari competition but was just as fast. There's more to the equation than we know just yet.
Not focusing too much on the HP spread just that it can be a lot to make up.

Instantaneous torque is good as long as it can be applied. AWD will help a lot. The Tesla does well here. Also if I remember correctly an electric has max torque at zero RPM then decreases as the RPM's go up the opposite of a gas engine. The Z06 has 650ftlbs with supercharging & it will come in down low. So it will be interesting to see what the FORD & NSX generate.

Still think the main issue will be weight & price. The NSX is metal with CF parts the GT is all CF.

Back in the day the original all aluminum NSX was pretty light but will not have that advantage this time around.

Yes, and FGT is suspected at coming in at 2-2.5 times the cost of the NSX... so there is no comparison. The NSX isn't even trying to compete but everyone keeps grouping them together.

IIRC the Ford GT MSRP is $150K almost twice the Z06. Don't know what the NSX will be but believe the mid-engine StingRay is targeted at the FORD GT price.

It would seem reasonable that both US cars are going for volume sales not high priced limited production like Ferrari. As for the last NSX it was a pretty low volume car about 18K units sold over 15 years.

My bad think I read under $200K but some are saying $200/250K. Was the mid engine StingRay was targeted at $150K

Should have realized $150 was low because its a carbon fiber car. The price of CR is falling fast with new fabrication technology but its still not cheap as metal stamping.

Good example of instant torque.

Teslas, Ford GT's, 600hp Civics, The NSX, Z06's, and of course, the unicorn TLX-S. This is the TLX forum guys, not car talk.

Leave for a medical reasons for a few days, and look what happens. Saturn there's no need to regurgitate the same thing over, and over again, we can all just reread all the old posts to see how the 4G, and Q50 are the styling, handling, and all out performance mavens that nobody knows about.
