That's the best place for them, although I know it's hard to design sometimes.

These days we're all shuffle steering even in high pressure situations and it's nice to know where the paddles always are.

Paddles are also usually not quite as big as they should be, IMHO.

I must not be as astute as some who think the TLX looks fantastic. To me it's styled like the recent Acuras before it - generic. It must be the red paint that is exciting people- those 5 tiny bubble headlights do not integrate with anything, again. I guess the little bubbles and littler beak is Acura's new bold design face.

Sure it's less polarizing than the 09 TL but I miss the old days when Acuras seemed more unique. This looks like a bland..err..blend between Camry/IS/and others mixed in. The Accord is more successful in making safe look more integrated and stylish.

But what do I know, I still miss coupes, (thanks to Acura) and sticks; and the slandered ZDX ranks higher in unique style and quality than any other current Acura to me.

Maybe in person, the real world silver/grey/white TLX sedans with Honda rims will look striking? but the RLX and MDX showed us where Acura is on design, lost and scared. I do hope I'm wrong, maybe I need a 3D look at it.

^^^IDIOT - Yes, HATER - Yes

But I suppose a 53 year old loser who likes sleazball strippers IS the ultimate authority on the new TLX

seems that Acura really wants the design to be right, so easily gets overcorrect.
the front and back chrome-plating make me think of KIA. The body length is 5 CM short for perfection since the trunk part is too short. I dont like the vertical sides of trunk curves in, looks weak.
Is it possible for Acura revise the design a little bit before its production, erase the chrome and make the trunk part stronger? the shape of tail lights is ok...

and each creature on this planet has a ass, if a car without exhaust port, looks like a dog walking on the road without ass, that looks weird.
There is no sense hiding the ass which should be a sexy place to show.

i can't agree more, scared on design, I think especially on 09TL, but 09 TL is quite unique, it just need a little bit modification of the front. Now they shrink everything.

Come on everyone....can we please agree to disagree and still maintain some respect for people's opinion? Acurazine is a great site and a place where people engage in conversations and fosters opinion but we don't need to rely on bashing people....

My 2 cents of course.

^^ I respect your opinion....Like I said, not trying to take side or anything. Just hoping to see people getting along a little better and just being able to come here and relax while having conversation about cars and poking a little fun once in a while, but not in a malicious manner.

That being said, I am aware that some members do like to provoke and get people going...I just take the high road.

I don't respect tsturbo or anyone who uses language like that. Language like that reveals more about the author than it says about the subject. I do believe strippers dude was wrong to pick that title and that he picked that title to provoke. That said, it's been my experience that these are fear based, miserable people who feel powerless in the real world. To each his own -- but threads like this and posts like the ones tstuirbo and mugen wrote are for their own entertainment and have no value to anyone else. Of particular interest is when they post invective and there are misspellings. Kind of defeats the purpose of writing insults when the insults are riddled with errors.

You're a Pacific Northwest person. I lived there. I know your type. Passive/aggressive. Can't tell anyone the truth to their face. Have to act nice all of the time because it's the PNW way. Have to blend in. Even though people pretend to be hipster renegades -- all tatted down with fixed gear pulling their ear lobes down to their shoulders -- all they want is to fit in somewhere/somehow but are too socially awkward to know how to do that. Yeah, lived there and hated the phoniness and sickness of it every moment I was there.

Forbes ran an article about how stats show that the PNW is the most heavily medicated and suicidal part of the country. I'm sorry you have to suffer so much. Self medication won't make you feel better either -- nor will posting ugly things on the internet.

Keeping score? Is the point really to win? All this over an opinion on a car design??

After studying some of the competition, maybe the TLX is not so bad, it now looks kinda smart.
Saw the Infiniti Q50 in brown, ugh, overwrought, looks like an ugly Nissan. Not sure what to think of Lexus' new styling. The IS looks like it kinda melted. At least the 09 TL's daring styling was first, and with some character compared to these over made-up drama queens. This must be why there's so much infotainment inside, so you won't venture outside and see what brought you.

I'm rooting for Acura, always have; this is an important car for them, but they snub me every year with no coupe.
Still driving my 03 CLS 6MT and loving it, like my Legend coupes before it.

Personally, I really like the styling and have high hopes the handling and overall dynamics will be entertaining. Sad that there is no manual offered and why hide the exhaust, Acura?! Also, it would be nice to get a simple honest-to-God rear-wheel-drive chassis.

Isn't it a bit premature to call the TLX crap? I would want to see a real production model with a real interior before making such a rash judgment- not to mention drive one. Even now, I predict that Acura is going to sell a lot more TLX's than 4g TLs in its production run.

Who knows, I might even get one to replace my 3G in 2016. I like the looks, and size of it. I'm hopeful that it comes in <40k for a reasonably equipped model.

Folks Acura has a very intelligent group of designers that design quality cars that set the standard in safety and reliability. Some designs were more on the "futuristic" side and not necessarily the standard in technology but still give them credit for listening to their customers. I have a TBP 2012 TL SH-awd Advance with umber interior tastefully modded and this car gets constant compliments everywhere I go from kids to elderly. I have actually had a kid point to the car in excitement. Give Acura credit for the Sh-awd system, the new hybrid SH-awd system , the Jewel headlights, the P-aws system and other technology advancements. I'm excited for Acura this is a good time for the brand and I support them. I went to my Acura dealer the other day which I frequent and I have never seen the showroom full of customers. My salesman told me since the new RDX, MDX, and RLX came out the interest / sales have increased. The new TLX will be the one that really draws the crowd trust me. Now I feel like that kid pointing in excitement!

The MDX is doing well compared to the 2008 to 2011 series & trending up but is still well behind the 2002 to 2007 version in annual sales. Its nice to see them doing better but Acura still has a long way to go before it recovers from the last go round. The new TLX should help them quite a bit despite the RLX only selling 5K cars in 2013.

While I'm still strongly put off by the beak, I have to say that once the unsightly thing was removed by some helpful people with photoshop, the rest of the vehicle looked very nice to me. The lines are much cleaner on the TLX than the current TL. Hopefully Acura will get some feedback about the beak as they do seem to want to insulate them from the beatings it gets.

I think if it was easy to mod and toss the beak, I would be interested in an Acura again for the first time since the 3G TL (which regretfully I did not get as my 2G is still in great shape). I sincerely hope they offer something with hybrid tech like the Accord has.

Wow...a smart ass kid huh?? You think you know it all but you don't.
YES...his ideas and thoughts are "out there" for sure....but, like you....he expressed them poorly. You're not all that...so get over yourself.

Most, not all, "old farts" are wise for a reason....they have lived and learned...A LOT...not like you who has yet to learn....A LOT!!!

So, don't cheapen this site with your nasty comments. Learn some class and how to admonish someone in a way that uses language other than what you only seem to know. You'll grow out of it....hopefully.

Have a nice day little boy!!

I said it was CRAP and I stand behind that and it's not just because I just purchased my 12 TL and 12 Sportwagon (as another poster mentioned that I'm making myself feel better)

I've drove Honda products for most of my life since 1978 for that matter. I drove Honda's when it wasn't cool to own a Honda and so on so to call me a Hater is way off the mark.

I happen to love Honda products and currently have three not to mention, mower, generator and yup a weed eater Honda powered.

Right now I wouldn't give up my TL or my TSX both are GREAT cars and with all Honda products hold their value so that when I want another it's fairly easy. Normally I get a new car every two years on rotation, one goes, then the other and so on, so I don't have to justify to myself or anyone else that "mine is better than yours" as I can afford to drive pretty much anything I want (we could talk about my 911, 4 Vettes, 2 Audis, 3 Caddys, Volvo and so on) but we will just talk HONDA.

The "new" TLX other than the new drivetrain is pretty much just cookie cutter lux sedan and not much more and most likely will carry a $50k price tag (my Advance AWD was $42k OTD) so the price point is a bit high for me in this segment. I saw the new Lexus coupe, the new Caddy coupe, the Infinity special edition (that will never see a showroom) and I just expected more of my beloved Honda/Acura. Hell look at an Accord or the Accord coupe to me those have more style points than an Acura and the Fit will be all new and that will add to the Honda stable, not to mention the Civic that has seen three refreshes in the past 3 years, both coupe and sedan.

So here we are at Acura, 2 SUVs, and 3 sedans, the two SUVs are way AWSOME and if I was in the market for another CR-V I would be driving an RDX and if I needed bigger an MDX. The ILX is, what can I say an expensive Civic with not much else going for it other than toys you can't get from Honda. I was not much impressed for the $$$$ of the RDX to go from my TL to the RDX so I was hoping for the TLX to hit it out of the park on both styling and performance, and it did neither, hence the CRAP title as I was watching the unveiling.

Acura has always been the leading edge of technology and performance and now it is neither and that saddens me. Go sit in a new 14 Accord feel the surfaces, look at the interior and then ask yourself why spend $12k more for an Acura. I'm not jumping the Honda ship but most likely will go back to Honda and Accord when I feel like getting a new car but also not sure due to the excessive amounts of tech and silly screens they are putting in the cars.

To sum it up...
Moron, I've been called worse
Idiot, see above
Hater, I never hate only offer MY opinion (that also can be CRAP)
and so on...

I just expected more, more style, more performance, more choices and Acura failed to deliver for me... CRAP!
Well Strippers4Me I can't understand how you can be surprised at the response your thread has generated. It was your intention in the first place wasn't it? We all realize that not everyone likes the TLX, no problem, that is your call. But when you made this thread you had already seen that a pretty high majority of people here were pretty excited about the car. So you wanted to express your opinion, no problem. You did post your opinion in other threads but I guess that was not getting enough attention for you. So you not only decided to create your own thread, you decided to use an inflammatory word that was designed to get a rise out of people. I think they call that 'bomb throwing.' And the 'crap' that you sent out came back at you and you are somehow surprised? Wasn't that the intention?

In reality the TL that you own which you call 'great' has a lot in common with the TLX which you call 'crap' so I guess there is a pretty fine line between great and crap for you. You just don't like that they have so much in common.

In fact the reality is you are 'disappointed' as you stated in your original post and below in another thread. Fine, we'll add you to the 'disappointed' column. You could have put 'disappointed' in the title of the thread but that would not get enough of a rise, so you picked 'crap.'

But when you decide to throw a bomb, be prepared for the reaction.

"It's a nice looking car but that's it, it's a nice looking car. As far as all the technology goes, I'm already over the touch screens and such, when is the last time you heard of an automaker updating their software? NEVER Even scares me more when they integrate I)S or Android into the cars, new phone... have to run out and buy a new car? Or keep old tech around?

I'm glad I bought both of my cars when I did and now plan on keeping them for quite a few years into the future. Acura didn't give me a reason to head to the showroom anytime soon."

"no style, no innovation, no sport model

Not to mention, no coupe or wagon

Acura went from the young/sporty Luxury brand to the "old man" brand and I'm not ready for that leap yet.

New Caddy coupe, New Lexus coupe, even the new Kia coupe, Hell I might as well go back to the Accord V6

Not a good move Acura"

Objectively speaking, the new TLX is a stretched ILX and and shrinked RLX. But thats not the way to see things. It is based on a "Design Language", it is based on "Patterns", that give a brand its character. Somehow, someway, this new Acura "Design Language" fits the TLX size much better than the ILX or the RLX.

My prediction is that dealers won't be able to keep the cars in show rooms, they'll sell in crazy numbers.

I agree, I also I think the TLX will sell very well.

Based on the photos we've all seen, even with production changes I think it will appeal to the masses much better than the 09-11 4G did.

I think that some versions of the TLX will change the public perception that it's an old guy's brand, however.

Although in my heart I will always wish that they'd basked the TLX on the Legend/RLX chassis instead of the US Accord chassis, the fact of the matter is that the combination of styling and performance choices, together with a publicized racing effort, will help transform the image.

IMHO, of course.

To all you FUCKING IDIOTS that want to call names, I said I didn't like the TLX and that was it, reasons galore.

As far as a 53 year old that "likes" sleazeball strippers YES I LOVE THEM, I OWN TWO DANCER BARS and make a GREAT living off of them.

The amount of bile you people throw is amazing, I would never go on a thread and post HATE if someone said they LOVE the new TLX.

AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED THIS FORUM HAS BECOME CHILDISH WITH THE NAME CALLING AND STUPIDITY

MODS, I STARED THIS THREAD AND NOW I WOULD LIKE IT CLOSED OR NEXT THEY WILL START CALLING PEOPLE NIGGER, WOP OR SOMETHING ELSE OTHER THAN MORON, IDIOT OR SLEAZEBALL.

FROM THIS POINT FORWARD MODS I THINK THAT IF A THREAD RESULTS TO NAME CALLING AND SUCH IT THE OFFENDER SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO POST.

MY FUCKING TWO CENTS AND MOST LIKELY I DO MAKE MUCH MORE MONEY THAT MOST OF YOU AND I DO LOVE STRIPPERS AND IF YOU'RE EVER IN NE OHIO, I'LL BUY YOU A DRINK AND A DANCE... AGAIN, HATERS GO FUCK YOURSELF

Seriously, what did you expect when you post a thread with the title TLX is CRAP when its nothing more than a concept vehicle. Its not the final design, there is little to no detail about it. How can you honestly base an opinion on the car when its not designed yet??
Yes, some are childish but its the internet. You need to learn to have some thicker skin, especially when making a thread like you did.

You cynically and purposely pick the most provocative thread title you could and now you're claiming to be a victim? You maliciously chose words meant to dampen the enthusiasm of people who are excited about the TLX.

You then use language that is far more offensive than any used in this thread to describe what you think people will probably say and you think that's okay? The racial epithets you used don't even cross the minds of most people in this modern world but they speak volumes about your antiquated mind and fear based world view.

You exploit young women and depressed, desperate men dark, dank rooms and use the money you make from that as a benchmark for claiming you're superior? I'm from Detroit -- I know what NE Ohio and SE Michigan is.

I'd suggest you get out of the squalid squeezebox you call a business place, stop chasing young women, get out into the sunlight, and grow up.

A high standard of living does not necessarily equate to a high quality of life.

This thread rules, it's a classic case study of a thread going off the rails. All the players are present; trolls, grammar police, the "let's all be nice guy", two dudes want to fight, and a few people trying to ignore the train wreck around them.

TSTurbo's super bowl comment - best ever response to a bunch of forum newbys taking things too seriously.

And then there's you. There's always a place for people like you at train wrecks, landslides, fires, and carnage. With 42 posts -- I'd say you're the newbie and you've added no value as far as I can see except to condescendingly judge others.

The remark about the super bowl wasn't the best ever. It was mundane and pedestrian. I don't think he was on the field of play. He's just living vicariously through the lives of others and acting like he was a part of it.

Oh, I forgot one; "pompous douche bag guy".

Keep pumping up your thread count, I'm going to enjoy real life and what I've seen so far of the TLX, great looking car by the way!
