That is correct. You do get tire sealer inflator kit included with the car, should take care of the majority of your flats unless you shred the tire. Spare tire kit with install is around the $600 mark

The tire repair kit kit that comes with the car may be OK if you only drive in a urban area, but there are all kinds of tire damage it won't repair (large holes, sidewall damage, blowouts, etc.) and it's time-consuming and complicated to use (try it on a freezing day). There are a whole bunch of situations where you could be left on the side of the read waiting for a flatbed to take your car to a service center, which may or may not have an appropriate replacement tire in stock.
i understand flat tires are rare these days, but having a compact spare is sure worth it to me. And while it's becoming more common for automakers to do this, I think Acura should be slightly ashamed for this kind of corner-cutting on a "premium" brand.

Is there some void in the trunk if they're only giving a tire sealer kit?

Note that with the spare tire kit you keep the air pump which would come in handy in the event of a slow leak. And with the dashboard readout of tire pressure, it's easy to know when an offending tire needs to be topped-off.
