Is there a cash incentive already for Canadian TLX buyers?

I was just on the Acura.ca site and I noted that the cash purchase price for the TLX was $1000 - $2000 lower than the original price, depending on the trim level ($1000 less for the base models and $2000 less for the higher trim levels such as SH-AWD Tech or SH-AWD Elite).

Am I reading this right? Does it mean that Acura is giving cash buyers $1000 - $2000 incentive already to push the initial sales of the car in Canada?

If this is true, it has not been advertised as I only noticed it in the Build and Price calculator.

Though there is apparently no such incentive for leasing or financing, they are offering a 2.9% lease rate for 36 months. If you combine that with the 2% loyalty bonus for existing Acura buyers, you can get a lease rate of 0.9% for 36 months in Canada. That is not bad at all for a brand new model!

Loyalty bonus??? I didn't know that! I can't find this info on the Acura.ca website.

Oh yeah, these are the "secrets" that they won't tell you about on the website, but when you talk with your dealership or the Acura Finance people, they will tell you about it. You have to be a current Acura lease customer to enjoy this 2% loyalty bonus.

I bought a TLX already and was given a 2% loyalty bonus. I'm 0.9% lease rate on the TLX.

As for 2000 bonus? Never heard of this

Insanik, if you do the Build and Price thing on the Acura.ca website, take a look at the Cash Price column and you will notice the discount. I am assuming that the price difference means a bonus for the cash buyers.

I think that if one leases with the 2% bonus, then the savings over the 3 or 4 years would be better than the $2000 cash bonus?

Oh that. There is a 1000$ cash purchase only incentive. So you get a 1000 bucks off MSRP if you buy it full out right away.

it's really nothing special.

And no, it's still not better by leasing with 2% loyalty rate. Because you're still paying full price plus interest. Where as out right purchase is 1000 off and no interest.

Dealers right now have a memo from Acura head office not to discount the TLX even a dollar. My dealer still gave me 500 off and 2% loyalty break cause i've boughten so many acuras.

Maybe you were just looking at the lower trims - if you look at the higher trims like the Elite trim or SH-AWD Tech, the cash bonus appears to be $2000.

It is nothing special for a model that has been out for years but for a brand new model, I think it's pretty unusual.

a memo not to discount the cars? I don't believe it.

Infiniti's Q50 had discounted pricing when it was first released (basically if you pre-ordered). I can't recall how much lower the pricing was than the eventual price for everyone who pre-ordered.

I'm in the U.S., but if Acura is giving discounts on top of the already pretty good pricing, I'm seriously being tempted. My only issue is I'm finding it difficult to buy something I haven't even seen yet. Especially with every car I've thought of buying eventually having serious issues or multiple nagging issues after it went on sale (outside of the Lexus IS 350).

I agree with you. I would never buy any vehicle without having seen or test driven it. I doubt very much that these incentives would go away as soon as the car hits the showroom. As much as I am interested in the TLX, I will just be patient and wait for a bit longer before I put any money down for one.

He didn't do you have a favour by giving you the 2% off the interest rate. That's what you are entitled to being an existing Acura customer if you are in a current lease or finance. I got 0.01% for my ZDX since it was already on 1.9%.

As for the "memo", IF it's true, good luck to dealers for selling the car in that case.

The markup on the TLX Elite (Canadian) is $3800 so there is a LOT of room for negotiation. (You are welcome for this info :) ) so I would NEVER get this car at just $500 off. Now that you guys have the info, happy shopping :)
