Spooked By Bridges

I posted this in VTEC.net but this forum has a bigger audience.

Cruising along on an open freeway and approaching a bridge, the car sometimes comes alive with a flashing BRAKE! light on the dash and copious beeping. The car seems to think we're about to meet an untimely demise by crashing into a shadow. Same again when rounding a curve with cars parked on the side of the road. I'm told I can turn down the sensitivity but have looked all through Settings and can't find it. Suggestions?

Similarly, does the 2.4 Tech have cross-traffic warning? I see it in a menu but it's grayed out.

So far so good. Aside from all the silent banging and clunking when accelerating after slowing in traffic, the car is great. 40.2 mpg on a 192 mile run and 28 - 32 in around-town running. 1200 miles in three weeks. I may have to park it at some point to keep under 30K miles on a 3 years lease.

If you have the latest version of the software you have cross traffic warning. I still need to get the update from the dealer.

It's the wording that got me. Page 88 in the online manual at Acura.com. It was set on Long so we'll try Normal for a while.

The Cross Traffic Monitoring thing is also no longer grayed out. Will have to have someone walk behind the car to check it out.
