Spare tire

I just bought a 2019 TLX and I didn't mind not having a spare tire when I bought, but now I'm second guessing myself as that refill kit doesn't exactly instill a sense of security should something go wrong with a tire. Is a spare tire a possible addition on this model? And if so, where would it go and about how much does it cost? I'm a little surprised there is very little information about this "option" should it exist.

Dealership "accessory" you can purchase i think

Yeah any dealership will sell it. Its a whole kit, rim, tire, jack, tire iron, etc. With install usually in the 600-700 range. you can add at anytime after purchase.

You can get ift form the dealer or order it online. What I found odd is the spare kit replaces the truck deck cover, rear trim lining the back of the trunk and a few other pieces. Dealer installed is around $500, but I have seen the kit online for around $300+

Ask for a discount where you bought the car. Buy the kit from the dealer so you don't have to pay the shipping fee, and get the tire from your local tire shop. I went that route, and install it myself for total of around $425

When I negotiated my lease, my dealer INCLUDED the Spare Tire
It's a deal breaker in NYC, because of rough roads, & potholes
It's VERY difficult to buy one; I was very lucky
BTW: I negotiated tire & wheel insurance with the finance mgr.
Very happy with the results
One blown Primacy tire & wheel is about $750
Buyer beware!

Is this part 06421-TZ3-A90ZA for the A-Spec? I see it online for under $200.

Nice info ! 200 bucks online, not bad

Are you sure that is with the tire? The spare kit I believe is 2 parts, the kit and the tire. Also my guess is shipping will be a bit as the parts are bulky and heavy.

It shows the tire in the kit diagram. I guess check with the dealer. As for shipping I know my local Acura dealer sells online under another name but allows local pickup. This kit from them online is just under 200 but if you go buy it in person its full price. I have regularly bought online and then picked up at the dealership. Check with your dealership to see if they sell parts online as almost all of the ones around me do and most are much better price wise than buying at the parts dept in person.

Anyone is Canada bought one? Can you share any links of dealership information? I am in GTA and need for 2015 TLX. Thanks

The tire is showed in the diagram but separated from the "box". If I am correct, the spare kit is covered whatever in illustration #1. The tire itself was #4. Not sure why those site I looked at didn't mentioned the tire is sold separately.

https://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/...-06421tz3a90za this site gave better description on the what's in the kit lol.

It's the whole kit. https://www.hondapartsunlimited.com/...1hY3VyYQ%3D%3D. Says right on the page:
  • Manufacturer:Acura
  • Part Number:06421-TZ3-A90ZA
  • Part:Tire, Spare Kit
  • Part Notes:spare tire kit.

KeithL 09-05-2018 04:23 PM

That is a great price then I would get it if shipping is not to much. Dealer wanted $493 installed.

Tire itself is not included, click the image to expand it, read the text at the bottom of the image and notice the outline excludes the tire.

I got mine at the dealer, there really isn't any "installation" as I recall, and it was about $325 a couple years ago. It's all about risk mitigation. :-)

I went on ebay and found a seller that was selling two genuine wheels for 2019 Acura TLX Aspec with literally brand new tires I got one for $300 and when I am travelling long distance I put it in the trunk just in case.
