Ran a few unofficial acceleration tests
Ok, with all this 0-60 talk I decided to take my fwd V6 out and see what my stop watch yielded.
First of all, this car is not a drag racer. It is very traction challenged. Being FWD, the weight transfers to the rear and the tires just light up. The only way I could get any kind of launch was by keeping the traction control on. Otherwise the tires would just spin and the tach needle would hit redline causing a shift to 2nd before it even gets started. Also when you floor the go pedal, there is significant throttle lag when trying to get a decent launch. I tried to brake torque to get past the throttle lag but the electronic throttle control wouldn't let me. It just wouldn't wind up the converter worth a crap. So after a couple of tries starting from a dead stop, I said screw it and went to timing 5-60. That allowed for a better launch and less throttle lag and less wheel spin. So....
0-60 best was 6.44 sec with traction control on but still a crap launch.
the other 0-60 try was 6.7 with a crap launch. Testing with traction control off was just burning rubber futility. ( I have no idea how the mags are going to get a good launch)
5-60 best was 5.91 backed up with a 5.93 ( not bad really)
Did a 0-100 run and got 15.4 sec. This was slower than expected and I think had a lot to do with how slow the tranny shifts.
I expected a little better result but as a perspective my 09 MB E350 did a 0-60 in 6.8 sec. with a much better launch. 0-100 was 16.8. I'm thinking the TLX compares well with newer, more powerful E350. Did a few runs with my automatic 08 TL and only could get mid 7 sec. 0-60s. Running my 05 auto G35 coupe hard I couldn't break 7 seconds 0-60 and got about 16.6 sec. 0-100.
So that's my report. It will be interesting to see what the mags come up with but this slow shifting tranny and hesitant electronic throttle programming is really hurting the times. It does pull strong when it decides to get going. The car would probably hold it's own if doing 3 beep rolling challenges but from a standing start the rwd cars are going to leave it at the line.

Thanks! I am very curious to see if the SH-AWD version would be better?

^^ Me too. On one hand, the added weight of the SH-AWD would be a - but the better traction and lack of wheel spin could be a +.
Will be interesting however, I am with Stew4HD on the fact that I am not concerned with the 0-60 numbers. I mean don;t get me wrong, if the numbers were 12sec, that would be different but I am not an aggressive driver so as long as the car has enough pick up and go, that is good for me.
I'll even go as far as to say that I am more interested in the pick from 60-100 km/h as that is more where I need the power.
