Potentially Purchasing A 2019 TLX 3.5L SH-AWD W/Tech Package
Hi All,
I am in the process of attempting to purchasing a used vehicle. Wondering if anyone has any experience with the 2019 TLX 3.5L SH-AWD W/Tech Package? I'm only considering Honda/Toyota products as I am looking for something that will last 200K+ miles. The only I am looking at currently has 55K miles and has had regular oil changes according to the CarFax.
I'm considering the ILX, TLX, Accord, and Camry.
I have seen a few very worrisome account with the 2019 TLX 3.5L SH-AWD W/Tech Package. Does anyone have any thoughts on if I should go forward with the purchase of the 2019 TLX 3.5L SH-AWD W/Tech Package? Black interior - Black exterior
- Engine Seizing up
- 9 Speed Transmission Issues
- Rear Differential Issues with the AWD system causing vibration
I really like this car, just worries about these issues. Acura's are supposed to late a lifetime!

Welcome to the forum and those issues that you mentioned are few and far between. Also all three issues you mentioned are covered under Acura's drive train warranty.

Get a 2G. 1G doesn't get much love. Got a 18 A spec v6 fwd last year, but turbo is the way of the past or is it future? Better to stay in-line with current trends.

This is true but also his budget may not lend itself to get a 2G TLX. I have a 2019 A-Spec V6 SH-AWD and my engine seized up a few months ago but I was within warranty and got a brand new J35 V6 put in my car and only got 4k miles on the engine so far. But I will be trading up to a 2G TLX soon

The V6 is a much better engine than the new turbo (I have a V6 and have driven the turbo plenty of times). The V6 is smoother, has more linear power delivery, sounds way better, and is just as quick. The 9AT leaves much to be desired, but it was vastly improved between its introduction in 2015 and the later model years. I love the new car's styling, and obviously the updated tech and nicer interior, but I just can't get past that engine.

Our 2019 TLX V6 ASPEC SH-AWD and we have experienced no issues with the car for our40,000+ miles. Our 2013 RDX V6 AWD (different AWD system) has been trouble free for 140,000+ miles. I am also a fan of the V6 over the turbo charged four cylinder in the TLX or RDX.
