NYC Snowzilla-Thanks SH-AWD TLX

Some very POSITIVE TLX-SH-AWD news:
Out at 7AM this morning to go for a NYS Inspection at my dealer
He couldn't believe I came out in this weather
Anyway, the car handled the snow like a champ
Only traffiic besides me were Plows
Drove in Sport & Sport+; they seem to have the best traction
Service Manager checked my Vin#, & said my ZF 9 Speed was up to date
Still isn't perfect, but this car ROCKS in inclement weather
Comments?

I agree, the day after I picked up SH-AWD, we got a major snow storm in Calgary but even with the stock LS2s I still had good traction. In the last year and a bit, I'd have to say that I haven't really felt any difference in the winter with the SH-AWD with the LS2 vs my previous car with Continental ExtremeWinterContacts.

I have Michelin X-ice xi3 on my SH-AWD TLX and live in Edmonton, and it blows away my previous FWD TL-S that had winter tires (same tires, in fact, so I have a direct comparison).

The LS2s are TERRIBLE. I knew how bad they were from the test drives, so I haven't even touched mine. Going to try to sell them since they haven't even really touched the road except to get the car off the truck and over at the plant when they did the test. I had my car delivered with the winters on.

The SH-AWD is phenomenal. I will never own another 2-wheel drive vehicle again as long as I have this type of system. I recently backed over the edge of the snow bank in my driveway and sunk my back tire in, and the SH-AWD got me out of it with zero drama.

The only downside to SH-AWD is it lulls you into forgetting how bad the roads are---and it won't help you *stop*. ;-)

Sorry to be that guy but I live in Southern California where it was 75 degrees and sunny today. Yes I opted for the SH-AWD but I doubt my TLX will ever see snow since I got it just because I like the way it drives. But glad to here it is receiving positive reviews from people who actually use their all wheel drive in the snow!

It also helps in the rain, although not the type of flooding that Lambo drove through!

I'm glad I don't live up there anymore. I had to switch the house over from Heat to A/C today.

One of the guys on my other web site up in Brooklyn had some fun with his 4X4 sound track added.

Slow motion fun starts about 2.01.

My baby managed to leave my driveway yesterday, just pressing the pedal, and I was on my way to pick up my food.
And today, I had no problem driving in the not so cleaned small streets in my town.
