New Recall regarding Transmission?

Hey Guys,

Just dropped my car off this morning for a steering wheel replacement (I didn't like how the leather was wearing, so they are replacing for me), and they advised that there was also a recall to be done. This was news to me....he said that they are going to perform another software update. The recall was for apparently the transmission can shift into neutral while cruising in higher gears, and this software is to address that problem. I had recently had the software update to improve shift quality of the 1-2 and 2-3 gears. But I was unaware of this issue. Anybody every heard of this? And if so, did you get a software update? How did it drive after the update?

I don't believe it's an official recall (as of yet anyway). It's a previous TSB, however, and is the one sbillard posted.

I had that done in November. It also helped the rapid acceleration/downshift lag and was possibly" going to improve shifting "under certain conditions". In Canada, I believe these two updates are one the same (and the only update my dealership is aware of). Is it possible you already had it without someone's awareness in the service department. It came to my attention initially as a letter from Acura Canada titled " Product Update: Powertrain and Transmission Control Module Software Update.

In my case it improved the acceleration lag and the first 1-2 shift, with some improvement to the 2-3 shift. However, the notched 2-3 shift remains between 2000 and 3000 rpms.

Other than going to the dealer, any way to tell what the latest update was applied to your car?

It is described as a "Product Update" not a recall. No government involvement with it that way. But I did get a letter from Acura telling me about it and saying I should visit my dealer.

I agree it is the TSB 15-034 and in my car it improved acceleration and downshift "surge "
It also temporarily inactivated the Auto idle stop. That came back about 4 Weeks later and now works fine

When did that TSB come out? Just curious as I have a 9/15 build 15 TLX.

I got a notice to have the update done to prevent the transmission from switching to neutral in September 2015

I am guessing then a 9/15 build probably already has it then.
