I was at the car show in nyc yesterday and went over to Acura to see if they had anything new for the TLX.
I got into a 2018 A-spec and noticed the interior trim was different. they have a dark grey brushed aluminum trim now and it looks great.
The trim on the door even has some sort of illumination feature on it.
I'm wondering if it would fit on the 15-17 TLX this would be a great alternative to replace the ugly wood trim.
I have a 15 and agree it looks better than the cherry wood trim. You can have it professionally wrapped to match the Aspec interior. I almost pulled the trigger to do it but backed out because Im nervous it will create squeaks and rattles down the road

If you're confortable with it, you can pull the trim out yourself, have it wrapped and put it back yourself - this will guarantee that no clips are broken/missing and will minimize the rattle and squeak likelihood
Speaking of trim, I own a 2016 Tech and have always wondered about the aluminum coloured trim that goes along with my "wood" trim (which I am fine with and is durable but prefer the ASpec trim shown above). Anyhow, the "aluminum" trim looks good, is very durable and is always cool to the touch, and cooler than the "wood" trim or the plastic around the screens. Some reviewers refer to it as aluminum, yet Acura now talks about new vehicles will have real metal and real wood. Is there definitive information as to whether this current trim is plastic or aluminum? Whatever it is, it looks and feels good.
I see that Espresso is only available on the 2019 Black TLX rather than three colors for 2018 (Black Copper Pearl now discontinued and White). Why restrict this classy interior to only one exterior color now? I thought with the 2019 RDX colors that Acura was breaking with their usual boring color choices.......I guess old habits are hard to break.
