Looking for input on purchasing 2015 TLX i4
I have owned an MDX for many years and now looking to drop my Nissan commuter for an Acura.
ILX and TLX are the ones I am looking at. I will use this car to commute 70 miles per day. So MPG is priority. Most TLX's are above $20k, until I ran into this 2015:
128k miles, base with 4 cylinder and remote start. Seems to fit the bill on anything I would want, and certainly nicer than my prior commuter. Listed $16.9k
Can I expect this car to go 250k? at which time I'll retire it. In my few hours browsing, I'm hearing bad things about 2015, but I think that's mostly the V6 transmission.
My only gripe after driving this TLX is the top of the steering wheel is not smooth. I cannot tell if this is by design to have grip, or if the outer portion has started to come off.
When it comes to the ILX, I can find many options around 16k sub 100k miles.
Thanks! -Scott

The engine is good to go, but the 8DCT transmission....you should make sure that the transmission was regularly serviced. Honda has had an uneven history when it comes to their transmissions, and they said the reason the 8DCT wasn't paired with the V6 was because it couldn't handle the torque output, which makes me a little concerned about long term durability. Mine started getting a bit wonky at around 70K miles.

Currently own two Acuras (both V6s with AWD), but have owned a number of Hondas in the past. If you are looking at a 4 cylinder front wheel drive with over 100k miles as a daily driver, I would strongly consider an Accord over the TLX.
