Key fob went thru the wash
In case anyone is wondering, the key fob to a 2016 TLX SH-AWD can survive a full wash and dry cycle with no ill effects... (Did a load of wash the other day and when I emptied the dryer, there was the key fob. Works perfectly fine.)

Well if it got totally dried of water before you activated it again, it wouldn't have caused a short circuit, which is what might have actually damaged the thing. But that was only one test. To run a proper experiment, there needs to be repeatability. Maybe do it a few more times, then we can be sure of the validity of your conclusions

I've read that should your FOB become VERY wet, for whatever reason: Washing, swimming, raining, etc. Best to let it drip dry and then immerse it into a bowl of uncooked rice for 24 hours. The rice will literally suck the water out of the FOB very quickly. Your option if you want to have rice for dinner that night.

It’s kind of crazy to me it went through a whole wash and dry cycle without accidentally pressing one of the buttons short-circuiting...mine accidentally goes off in my pocket all the time whenever it bumps up against my keys
