Apparently according to Autoblog, the top 5 debuts at the NY auto show where:
1. Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe
2. Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept
3. Nissan Murano
4. Mazda MX-5 Miata 25th Anniv. Edtn.
5. Alfa Romeo 4C
Surprisingly enough the TLX didn't make the editor's list... didn't even make the list of "honorably mentioned" (yes, I went through the list twice to see if I missed anything):
Volkswagen Golf TDI SportWagen Concept
2015 Hyundai Sonata
2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible
2015 Dodge Challenger
2015 Toyota Camry
2015 BMW M4 Convertible
2015 Subaru Outback
2015 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT
2015 Ford Focus Sedan
2015 Kia Sedona
E-Carriage
2015 Dodge Charger
Ford Transit Skyline Concept
2016 Audi A3 TDI Sportback
2015 Audi RS7 Dynamic Edition
2015 Maserati GranTurismo Centennial Edition
2015 Ford Focus Electric
2015 Scion FR-S Release Series
The article here: http://www.autoblog.com/2014/04/18/e...ork-auto-show/
I wonder if there are issues between Acura and Autoblog? I don't want to spread any rumors but the "average Joe", like yours truly, can't explain this any other way...

True--and if one looks good then dual looks better. Even if it is the phony dual exhausts on the 4th Gen TL. The stylists must have realized this otherwise why go to the trouble of making what is a single exhaust look like dual?

Separate dual outlets because symmetrical looks better to the human eye

Wasn't somebody "uninvited" from Acura press events for constantly breaking embargoes? Maybe that was Jalopnik?

While I agree that the design is not offensive, for a car company who has acknowledged that they have fallen behind and are determined to bring back passion into the brand, they sure miss the mark! I think what pisses me off teh most is that they went through so much effort to hype this vehicle and make a statement that they wanted to bring back adrenaline to the brand and they just give us something as a half effort AT BEST!
Again, I need to stop ranting because people will think that I am a Debbie downer but its not that I dislike Acura....in fact, its the opposite! I was hoping they would give me something to keep me in the brand and excited about and they didn't deliver.....And they had the opportunity but refused to do it. Again, while the interior is nice, this is not an interior worthy of a SPORTS SEDAN when you compare it to the 4G (and 3G) TL.

We were always told that the reason for 'fake' dual exhausts was primarily for the functionality of dual mufflers. This allowed for more optimized exhaust flow with sufficient sound management. It also allowed for better packaging with two smaller mufflers in the 'dead' space behind the wheel well.

I think that Autoblog is quite negative towards the TLX. Here's their review from the NY Show:
http://www.autoblog.com/2014/04/16/2...new-york-2014/
Interestingly, despite their negativity, the comments on this article were actually quite positive!

Summer is Coming
If that is fake wood in the RLX Hybrid then it is the most convincing fake wood I've ever seen. I sat right there and looked at it and it had depth to it. If there is going to be fake wood then that is pretty good. It fooled me close up.

Regardless of who it was, Acura's relationship with the mainstream car rags seems to not be great. The magazine's constantly diss on it (not entirely undeservedly), but never give it kudos when appropriate. And it appears that not just Jalopnik, but several car blogs have been banned from the Acura press fleet for violating their embargoes, so there are definitely some bitter people out there who seem to be shuffled around from publication to publication.

@CGTSX2004 how did you get interior pics and trunk pics? When I was there Saturday the blue TLX was locked.
In any case, I love the look of the new Q50S, more so than the new TLX. Minus all the problems the owners have been experiencing I couldn't get over the fact that its the same drivetrain the G37 has been using for the past few years. The same goes for the new Lexus IS. It's a polarizing new look for the IS but its the same damn drivetrain they've had for like 6+ years.

Unfortunately, it wasn't too strange over on the Q forum. The problems were widespread and they have bought back more than a few cars. InTouch was not ready for primetime; it has improved, but is still buggy and still lacks much of the functionality that was advertised and which helped tip the scale in favor of the Q when I purchased. The DAS is buggy as well and my car would consistently randomly go left or right in a way that was much different than an alignment issue with traditional steering. The brakes would also randomly apply themselves, including once while in the highway. I had many more issues, too. Glad to be getting rid of it, although bittersweet because when it worked it was a great car.
Thanks, Weather. I'm excited about the CTS. It is really gorgeous and the interior is amazing. It is definitely a step up. It was between that and the 535i. The 5 is just a little dated now, and it would have taken 2 months to get a car with the equipment I wanted because it would've needed to be custom built. I didn't have that kind of time with the Q going back.

And on the topic of the TLX, I visited the NYIAS on Saturday. IMHO the new TLX looked like a grown up 3G TL. I found it to be rather boring and vanilla. If this was the 4th Gen TL then I would have been more excited, but for it to be the 5th Gen is some what depressing. To me it shows a lack of creativity from the Engineering Dept. It feels like they went backwards instead of going forward. You don't see Lexus and Audi trying to recapture the glory days of its older models. No, they are moving forward with bolder statement cars. I've been a TL driver since my '99 TL and without a major shake (i.e. Type S), I can safely say this will be my last.

I am not surprised at all...I was told earlier this year from a very reliable source that the TLX would not be available in Canada until early September....seems this might have been true. Doesn't matter for me anymore...I am done being disappointed by Acura....Maybe I'll get a Rio with heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats, folding mirrors and use the extra 25k to go on a trip down south next winter *lol*

2010 TL AWD 6MT: New King
We even get emails saying the TLX "will be here end of May" and now we find out it's not coming out until late summer, which is what, August or September possibly?
Not a good start for the TLX. The above occurrences above clearly shows poor planning, mis-direction, and a lack of communication between Acura's divisions.

Did anyone get the Acura STYLE magazine in the mail today?
I've been looking at the photos of the TLX and the visible mufflers tucked under/behind the bumper make me furious. It doesn't make any sense.

I wonder if Acura is getting kickbacks from other car companies for helping them sell more cars? They sure have succeeded in pushing me away.....and I considered myself a loyal customer.

I suspect the reason for the delay to ship the cars to the dealers is that there are lots of 2014 TLs still unsold. So maybe its the dealers that pushed for the delay so that they can clear their inventory with some crazy discounts during the summer months. Not every consumer knows that there is a TLX coming soon... but even if they do, a $5-$7 discount on the 2014s could clear that inventory.
However there is a side effect to all that.... Assuming that production has begun and there are a bunch of TLXs sitting in a huge parking lot somewhere in Ohio, you really want to buy a car that has been sitting in a lot in humid hot weather all summer long? I hope that is not the case (i.e. production hasn't started yet). Don't shoot! Just a thought!

But something deep inside me tells me that perhaps pushing to clear inventory isn't the only reason for the delay.
Perhaps some genius crunched some numbers and figured that if "we delay the TLX, current 4th gen owners whose leases are about to expire will be extending their leases for another 2-3-4 months until the TLX comes out... so we'll make some extra mula without selling a single new car yet"
(again, just a thought... based on a simple fact: somehow Acura dealers are beginning to "like" what corporate is doing for them... )

One way or another, the thing I have noticed about Acura (and I guess Honda) over the years is that they don't like to be hassled by journalists, professional or amature ones. Actually they don't even like to be hassled by anyone, just like TL owners

I predict she will get impregnated BY a GS350 F-sport - just not in the way you are alluding to. She will be impregnated (near)by a whole bunch of cars as she will be in the backseat of a car in parking lot at the time.
