Get ready.......TLX live at Detroit Auto Show

The TLX will be unveiled in less than 30min. Are you guys ready for this? Whose next car is going to be a TLX? I for one can't wait to see what they have done. I hope it looks better than the previous gen. My third gen typs S just hit 70k and is still going strong. Will this new redesign be enough to sway me to buy another car? We shall see...

no style, no innovation, no sport model
Not to mention, no coupe or wagon
Acura went from the young/sporty Luxury brand to the "old man" brand and I'm not ready for that leap yet.
New Caddy coupe, New Lexus coupe, even the new Kia coupe, Hell I might as well go back to the Accord V6
Not a good move Acura

You are right. They did do it! Wow I am already impressed with the look. It's like the third and fourth gen had a baby. 9 Speed?? Wow I can't wait until this thing drops. It is going to be one sick ride! Sign me up for a test drive.

The rear end looks like a Lexus GS/IS and new civic mix.
The rear quarter panel has a BMW feel.
The front end looks like a simple evolution from the 4G .
I'll wait on the test drives and performance reviews. So far the looks are ok, nothing that really excites me. Just a simple evolution from the previous generation. The 3G and 4G had a unique look that you could not find in any other car mfg.
Damn these pedestrian safety laws, they're forcing a lot of cars to look the same regardless of design, and the Acura TLX design team didn't even try to be creative.
I am excited about the race car version of TL... What series will that machine be competing in?

You are kinda right! It ain't for kids bro. I, for one, am glad they didn't unveil a freaking wagon and a coupe and a this and a that version. That's what they do with the accord and it leaves the accord with a lack of a true identity in muddy waters. No thanks. I'd rather them put out an actual coupe of it's own.

Vast improvement over the previous model, front grille will be taken care of by our aftermarket friends.
Ya know that they are already working on that beak as we speak.

Well I'm so glad I did the December to Remember event for a new 2014 GS350 AWD F-Sport.... I have not updated my garage due to time restraints but I must say the Lexus is leaps and bounds over my 2012 TL SH-AWD Advance in so many ways. I will see what is available after my 27 month lease but if this keeps going the way it is now I may stay with my F-Sport based on the TLX release today... I see a lot of the 3rd Gen in this so called redesign which is not a total bad thing but we should be trying to move forward not backwards...

I see it too and I love it! I love my 3G Type S so I guess it's to be expected. I avoided the 4th gen because I hated the original beak(dumbfounded wide open smile looking beak). But this car feels like they took the best of both generations and put it in the same package. I wonder when they will show us the interior?

That is why I bailed on the 09/10 for the 12 because of the beak... As I said not a bad idea stealing some of the 3rd gen designs but this was a chance for a total new REDESIGN and to me that is not what they did here.. As you stated, blended two designs into one... Not a lot work need there... Hopefully the cockpit makes up for some of the non redesigned exterior...

Well done. I like it
Overall look is great with the rims but thinking that they are 20" makes me think the body is still kind of big but meh, I love it, looks great.
Mazda 6, Infiniti, blah blah, of course they all going to look the same, just forget it.
Look at the details and how it sits on the road.

Problem with most of this is that I do LOVE my TL Advance and TSX Sportwagon they gave me no reason to want more.
It's a nice looking car but that's it, it's a nice looking car. As far as all the technology goes, I'm already over the touch screens and such, when is the last time you heard of an automaker updating their software? NEVER Even scares me more when they integrate I)S or Android into the cars, new phone... have to run out and buy a new car? Or keep old tech around?
I'm glad I bought both of my cars when I did and now plan on keeping them for quite a few years into the future. Acura didn't give me a reason to head to the showroom anytime soon.

I don't see how its moving backwards technology and design wise. The only thing that resembles the 3G is the overall silhouette/side profile and moving the license plate to the trunk. That's it. If anything, the front resembles more of the 4G.

LOL, so folks don't get it. Very nice, I'll leave the extremely off until I see the interior. But from what I've read, heard and seen this TLX should be boss! Haters are going to hate. Folks want rocket ships but never go higher then the trees, go figure.

As I said in my first post... Combination of 3/4 Gen cars. I just read over at Car and Driver where the sub frame and wheel location/dimensions are the same from the 4th gen. So once again not a total redesign from the ground up.... I guess I'm just looking for more of a splash from Acura design studios so to speak......

I really like what I've seen so far... Looking forward to test-drive it! Hopefully the Production model will be very close to this prototype... I also hope they keep that red color on their palette because right now it's crazy how it looks like my next TL(X)!

I see elements of M37, ILX, and TSX in the TLX, but I think it looks great. I was fearing something bland like the RLX, but this really has some aggressive presence, at least in prototype form. (I think the RLX looks good, but in a stately sort of way.)
I hope they offer a manual transmission at some point, and that Honda/Acura has greatly improved the steering feel in its EPS systems. It will be a tough sell for me otherwise.
