GEICO Increase
GEICO just raised my Comprehensive by $20 and my Collision by $60 for my six-month renewal. They said it was because when I bought the TLX the car was so new they didn't have the final costs of replacing/repairing parts.
Has anyone else had their insurance increased since they bought their car?

Mine's renewing on May 1st; no increase
IMHO it should go DOWN, because of the 5 Star safety rating, that was awarded,
after I leased my SH-AWD/Tech/TLX
Had 21st Century, prior, for 3 years, on my '12/TL, till they jacked my rates, for no reason, & I switched, to Geico
FYI: TSC is the CHEAPEST carrier in NYC, but they don't take AMEX for payment

I also have State Farm and my insurance was about $10 a month lower than my 08 CTS. I was surprised that a 15 would be lower than an 08, but my agent told me that Cadillacs are high to insure and Acura/Honda are typically lower. I'm not asking why, but it's nice to pay less for a newer car.
Perhaps you should do a quick cross shop with multiple Insurance companies to get some data.

I had GEICO for many years before the kicked me off for a claim they didn't like (rightfully so). Went to Progressive and pricing was similar. In the end, once we didn't have the pair of S2000s anymore, Allstate was BY FAR the cheapest due to our homeowner policy being there as well. I could never combine before because Allstate seems to HATE sportscars.

I have Geico... Full coverage on 2 cars - 2013 Accord 2004 Corolla $100 comp/ $250 collision, 100/300k and then 50k for property damage. Rental coverage up to $75 and then roadside assistance and I pay $88 a month. When I bundle my home insurnace next month it will technically be cheaper. Auto companies try to argue with me that they can beat Geico's price. Yea, you can't. LOL
I've never had issues with Geico, only thing that pissed me off was when I was involved in the hit and run, I had the license plate number, they put it in their system and it took forever for them to find out who did it. 3 days later the cops came back and said the person who hit me has Geico. Really Geico, putting it in your system took 2 weeks for it to come back. (they contacted me 2 weeks after the police contacted me, the car was already in the shop by then.)

I'm also with Geico.. Was previously with Esurance.. until i added the TLX, would have been $1400.00 every 6mos... now that I'm with Geico, I'm at $1052.00 every 6 mos for 3 cars full coverage. 100/300 for Uninsured & Bodily, 50k property $500 for both comp & Coll. Liability coverage only for my Integra.

Thanks for the info about TSC. I requested a quote and it was $150 less than GEICO for the 6-month period. But I read online reviews and there were a lot of complaints about them, so I don't think it's worth making the switch.

Just a suggestion to check with AAA for auto insurance if you're in the US. My wife and I bundle both our auto and home insurance through them and the rates are great. By far the best option we've found for Florida which is notorious for auto and home insurance prices. I hadn't ever thought of them as providing insurance, but they partner to do so. I had always only shopped through the major carriers before.

They raised mine a bit also for the TLX. Strange, it used to be the case that insurance goes down when you turned 25...nothing like that happened for me last year.

I've got State Farm, too, and the annual premium on my 2015 TLX is about $80 less than my 2013 Accord EX-L coupe. Not a lot, but I'll take what I can get. The agent said she thought it might be because of the TLX's additional safety features.

My insurance dropped from 126.00 a month to 89 with USAA. They are the best. I asked why was it dropped and she said the safety features on the new TLX dropped the price.

Be sure to tell your insurance company that your car has the collisions systems and such for your discounts! Many select the base model in their computers! Also a GPS locating system (such as through acuralink) offers a discount so the car can be located if stolen.

I am with Geico and I am paying 389.55 for 6 months for 06 TL and 07 TSX. Full coverage 100/300 500/500 collision and comprehensive deductible, emergency road service, rental.
Few weeks ago I quoted TSX replacement with TLX v6 sh-awd and our insurance would go up by about to over $520 for 6 months premium. Not terribly bad, but not great either. I remember paying $700-800 for 6 months for one car not that long ago, so even $500 for 6 months for2 cars is dirt cheap.

I had Hartford Insurance and they bumped me up considerably when I traded a 2004 TL for the new TLX SHAWD. I hadn't realized that as a veteran, I am eligible for USAA. I couldn't believe how much lower their rates are for actually higher coverage. And no, I don't work for USAA but I sure am happy with their customer service. Also, I contacted the Body Shop Mgr of my Acura dealership and he said USAA was great to work with. Hopefully, I won't need it just as I hadn't needed Hartford.

I have State Farm and my insurance only went up $20/year going from my '09 TL AWD Tech to my new TLX V6 Tech. Their reason for such a small increase was that the TLX has a bunch of new safety features

^not sure if it's the same down in the states but in Canadia, if you're under 25 that's an automagic price gouge. Only after you hit the 25 do you get any decent discounts up here.

Went I got my car on 8/29 my USAA insurance dropped 80.00 and now my insurance just renewed on 9/1 and its still the same price. I love USAA.

So I just got the renewal paperwork from Geico. Unfortunately the insurance went up by about $40 - no changes on the policy.
At this point, Geico is no longer competitive, so after about 8 years of being with them, I will be looking at a different provider - looks like Allstate it is.
Gave Geico a benefit of doubt, but they couldn't do anything about the price - oh well.
