The interior is state of the art 15 years ago. The two screen implementation is poor, eliminating physical controls that shouldn't be eliminated and leaving in place a smorgasbord of buttons that are unnecessary. Look at an Audi A4/A5/S4/S5 with the LCD gauge cluster for a thoughtful, clean, modern, well-executed two-screen interior. Look at a Lexus IS for another example of an out of date, even worse interior than the TLX.
The B&O audio system is more capable than the original ELS in the 3G TL. The TLX? Uh, no.
The external cameras that Acura uses continue to be sub-par as well compared to the competition.
The TLX is not a horrible car -- but it is not top of its class or state of its art by any stretch of the imagination.

It's not rocket science. Every review or ranking has its own methodology. At the end of the day, it's your needs and resource available that matter. Like it or not, TLX is rated as one of the finalists and runner-ups for BI's annual car of the year contest. And here's' their methodology:
Our methodology is straightforward, based on basic questions:
Is there a strong business case for the vehicle? We are a business website, after all.
Is there a strong business case for the vehicle? We are a business website, after all.
- Did our reviewers agree that the vehicle should be included? We have to come to a consensus, even though we might disagree on some particulars.
- Was the vehicle objectively excellent? There has to be a "Wow!" factor of some sort.
- Did the vehicle stand out from the sea of competition, particularly when it comes to technology? A Car of the Year finalist has to be special, and we're also a technology website.
- Can we strongly recommend buying or leasing the car? We demand to know whether we'd buy the vehicle ourselves, if we had the resources.

Maybe if Acura pays for a big enough add in the Penny Saver they can get car of the year! Kind of like when you see the ads for a movie and in HUGE letters it says "Best movie of the year!" and then in tiny print next it shows the source to be the First Baptist Pasadena Gazette.

I have the 2018 Acura TLX ASpec. The seats in this car are great. I previously owned a 2014 A4 SLine with sport package. The seats in the ASpec are better.
The screen implementation is not poor as you say. The dual screens are way better, I can use NAV , android auto/car play on one screen, while radio , hvac controls on other screen. Even the NAV Has the option to type in address' instead of using a dial and picking a letter. I also had the B & O system in the Audi. The Audi ELS system is great, especially the ability to store music on the hardrive.
I have owned several Luxury brands, the TLX ASPEC I currently have is the car I like the best, granted this is the newest.
This forum just seems strange with all the Acura haters.
My comments on the TLX ASPEC come from my own opinion, since I do own a TLX. I am not trying to justify my purchase or make myself feel better, if I didn't like this car or the interior I would trade it in for an A4 or something else. Don't get me wrong, the A4 was and is a great car, but so is the TLX.
As for transmision, the best auto transmission I ever drove was a Audi S4 with the 7 speed dual clutch, the car was a loaner.

Seat comfort is to a great degree personal preference. The Audi and Acura seats are pretty comparable.

Please, those who don't even have one tiny bit of "warm and fuzzy" feeling left about our beloved TLX, please move on. I am begging you. Please leave us alone and let us TLX enthusiasts live in our bliss of ignorance in this corner of cyberspace that's called "Acura Enthusiast Community". Amish people get to live in their no TV no technology society and we don't go in their back yards and criticize/scold them. Again, folks, use some common sense.

Think the wheels are very nice. Look very much like mine. If I said knockoffs the looking to get offended would be offended.
BTW Acura Honda history. TL for 6 years & 5 Honda's recommended to my daughters. Two still have their AWD Pilots. The word HATER is a nice politically correct word very easily used by people who disagree with you over something. HATE is another word that is used so much by the snowflakes it has lost all serious meaning.

Indeed opinions are like AHs, but how they are expressed is equally important, regardless of what side of the equation you fall on. I can almost guarantee that no one is changing anyone's opinion of what they like

i hope it's ok to have some more fun with this analogy. Aren't all AHs are more similar than not? Where can you find two completely opposite AHs? I wish opinions were like AHs where "common grounds" could be easily found! Hahaha

Where I live there are quite a few 4 cylinder TLXs on the road. It's a very good engine transmission pairing and with PAWS is really one of the better value for money buys in today's market. I realize that most car lovers on forums are bigger HP folks, but perhaps we should keep the 2.4 in mind when discussing the relative merits of the TLX.
