Body side moldings for 2015 TLX
I used the instructions to install as per
http://www.urvi.net/forumfiles/SB/BII02265-16.PDF
http://techinfo.honda.com/Rjanisis/p...II02265-16.PDF
The same instructions were also included with the product. However, after installation, I feel that these are only for decorative purposes, as they do not really make any difference to deter the damage done to the doors from other car doors. Am I right in that assumption, or are the instructions wrong, and the moldings should have been installed in the middle of the door?

I got sideswiped by this decrepit gnome in a parking lot, the guy pulled into the space next to me and his right front bumper grazed the driver side of my car starting at the rear wheel, and thankfully the side molding took too the bulk of the impact and abrasion. On the actual door, everything buffed out and the body shop had to touch up the molding. Worth the price 100 times over.

They could help in some limited situations, but I would have preferred something in the middle of the door, like the Accord's.

Exactly why I passed on them. They are more likely to prevent damage to other vehicles than to protect the TLX itself, otherwise they would be mounted higher up where you would most likely get door dings.
On most cars nowadays, it seems that for door moldings, style trumps functionality.
