Back side of front seats.....differences?
I know that this popped up in an earlier thread noting the difference, but not sure we had a why. I think the idea back then was that it was reworked into a more refined setback. Now that the production car has been released I am still finding pics of different versions of the back finish on the front seats. Seems that the SH-AWD version (maybe advanced) is different than other models/trim. Could this be b/c Advanced has ventilated?
Colin....??? any ideas?

Does it have anything to do with Base, leatherette seats... versus Tech/Adv premium milano perforated leather seats?

The seat shown in the pic of the blue car on the right is the same as the V6 Tech I test drove the other day. I have not seen the seat on the right in person, so I wonder if it only shows on the SH-AWD which I don't think has appeared at dealerships yet. Someone out here will figure it out! I kinda like the "finished" look of the car on the left, but not a big deal.....just wondering.

For the 4G TL, the back of the front seats are shaped differently between the Advance and the non-Advance trim models, due to the addition of the ventilated front seats.
The 4G TL Advance trim models have a bulge towards the top of the front seats, whereas the non-Advance ones have an evenly flat surface; and they look exactly the same as in your enclosed pictures.

I concur. Went and saw the TLX today and the Advance model had that "fuller" looking seat back panel. The base and Tech models had that plan seat back. The non Advance seat back actually looks kind of cheap in comparison.

Yes, this is exact the reason.
