It wouldn't surprise me if Honda/Acura goes a similar direction as Toyota/Lexus. Toyota has one new platform with about a half-dozen different variations that support their new models. Too much is invested in a platform to dedicate to one or two models.

It's been stated it won't be using the Accord platform anymore. Something about that new platform not working with a V6.

And I believe the RDX was designed to handle a V6. And I believe Acura said the RDX was a totally new platform. I suspect they will use that on most of the new Acura models.

Not sure if this has been posted yet and doesn't really tell a lot but it is a tease. Acura teases Type S sedan concept ahead of Monterey Car Week

Not sure what to make of the quick flash of the front grill. Looks a bit Nissan-ish, or maybe even Lexus-ish. Not sure I'm liking that design direction. Maybe they are hinting at the NSX grill, but on a sedan it is going to look less like an NSX and more like a Nissan.

It’s too early to make assumptions but it looks a lot like an Audi A7.

Agree with Rocket. Not sure I like that front bumper design. Similar to an Altima or Maxima in front.

I can only recall a couple of trims that have spun off to become its own model. (I.e.: GTR and Supra come to mind )

Didn’t Acura already confirm they are planning to Type-S-ify most, if not all their models? We’ve already seen a TLX and a MDX mule. Makes sense to maximize the revenue on the development of that V6T.
