Ambience lighting?

Ambience lighting?
So I've seen the TLX has overhead ambience lighting for both front and rear as well as the storage tray to the front of the shifter. Do the door handles, footwells, or cup holders having lights as well? I read the door handles do but am wondering if this is only on V6 models. Also, do all models have lights under the side mirrors? Thanks

All models should have the ambience lighting. The overhead map lights in the front and rear come on when you open the door (actually this is something you can set). There are very faint blue LED lights overhead (just like in the 3G) and also blue LED lights in the door handles. I don't believe these LED's exist in the rear door handles.
As for the lights under the mirrors, if you're referring to the "puddle lights", only the Advance models have that.

Three Wheelin'
^ This is one design aspect that continues to "irk" me.
The MDX has footwell lighting (blue) that stays on at all times and matches the overhead ambience light. I think it looks great and adds a really nice touch to the night-time driving experience.
However, the RLX has footwell lighting (amber) but it only stays on when the doors are open. And while I was hoping the TLX Advance trim would at least also have it, it appears it doesn't have it in any of the trims.
Why they can't make this consistent across the vehicles boggles me. It's one of those really nice small touches that really adds a lot to the "luxury" feel of the car. And I have to imagine its fairly inexpensive for them to implement in the cars. Yet they seem to chose to do it three completelt different ways across their top three vehicles.
Ugh.

You just want pics of what they look like? If so, there are two lights, each you can turn on or off. Each is angled to the occupant on that side of the car. The lights aren't adjustable (can't be moved) from what I recall, and are a bit recessed into their positions (think of overhead lights you control on an airplane). There is also a centered blue LED much like by the front map lights. I tried taking some pics in my garage but they turned out pretty bad. Here is one where the lights and the blue LED are on :

They definitely light up the car, but as they're "ambient" lighting, it's not as if you have headlights blaring in your car. I have an ebony interior, so I can't compare it with the tan in your X5, but it looks ok to me.

I'd like to see a pic of the tray in front of the console shifter lit up as well. and do the cup holders light up?? A friends RX330 had all kinds of ambience lighting- footwells, door handles, door pockets... Deff wish Acura would do more with this especially considering how BMW, Audi, and now MB are lit at night.
