Acura US site Build and Price now for TLX

The Acura US site finally has the Build and Price feature up for the TLX.

The 19" diamond cut wheels will be an additional $2340.

The 18" chrome look wheels will be an additional $1700 - they look rather awful IMHO...

Curiously, there is an option for a door chrome trim too, making the side profile a bit more "Lexus-like".

Now that the whole site is up and running for the TLX, it has more goodies than the Canadian Acura site, which is just typical!

I'm having trouble finding the 'GT kit' under exterior accessories.

So the car doesn't come with a spare tire? There is an optional spare tire kit under exterior accessories when I tried to configure a TLX V6 Advance.

I don't see any mention of run flats. I hope thats not the case, hate run flats with a passion.

Question... The base model interior is listed with "sports seats with leatherette trimmed interior". What exactly does this mean - that the seats are leatherette or just the trimming like areas around the door handles, etc. In comparing with other Acura's, it seems the RLX has the same config, with the same option for "premium Milano leather trimmer interior" with the tech package. Coming from a TSX, I'm just hoping the seats are very similar - and not some noticeably hard/fake material. Having experienced leathertte seats in my in law's mini cooper (which makes my back sweat), I wanted to clear this up since I ordered the base (non tech) TLX.

The seats on the base TLX are leatherette, but (and I have no idea if this is true) I doubt they will be different from TSX seats that much. I have read that the center section of TSX seats is leather while the bolsters/back of the seat is leatherette. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I'm anxiously awaiting truecar.com's and other similar sites posting of the TLX pricing. I'd really like to see what the invoice cost is as it seems most dealers will be charging MSRP at the beginning. In the competitive Miami area with several dealers such info would work to a buyer's advantage.

I for one will not pay MSRP for any vehicle including TLX as I don't think the initial pricing with offered incentives while ok isn't good enough. Hopefully I can get the dealers working against each other and get more off as I plan to buy SOMETHING in the next 3 months. I know I'm asking for a lot but if you don't ask you already know what the answer is.

That makes sense. I did some googling and saw some similar comments. If they're like the TSX that's perfect for me. I guess I'll just have to wait and see them in person.

For those interested in size comparisons to the TL and TSX, the "Compare" feature on the Acura site lets you compare those to the TLX. It confirms that front seat space is pretty similar (albeit about an inch narrower) while the rear seat loses about 2 inches of leg room compared to the TL.

This surprises me, as our '13 Accord has a roomier back seat than my TL. I wonder what happened to that space in the TLX.

Hearing the great reviews of the 2.4 does not surprise me. I knew how great our Accord was, and predicted that an Acura built on that platform would be excellent. Now, if only they could move the 6MT (which our Accord has, and it is truly superb) to the TLX. What a car that would be. Especially at 35K.

I never trust leg room measurements as it varies how they actually do that. I have been in cars that have measured more legroom and can never find a good seating position for my legs. RDX has almost an inch more legroom than my A6 yet I can never find a comfortable position with the seat that allows me to extend my legs well. That said the Acura compar site shows the TLX has 4 less inches rear legroom than the Accord Touring.

^^ I agree. You need to sit in the car to see how it fits your body size and proportions. But given that the car has the same wheelbase as the Accord, I just wonder where those 4 inches of legroom went.

I think they both look horrible. Keep in mind that the above does not include the tires so you're likely looking at around ~$3500 to upgrade to the 19" and then hope you can sell the 18"s that come on it and recoup some of that. I think it's absurd that Acura expects you to pay that to go to 19"s, I paid $700 for that option on my Ford.

This really should be an option, not an accessory.
