I have been researching this TSB and do not see anywhere that there is a "STPO SALE" order in place. The sales manager at the dealership I go to told me that there is no "STOP SALE" in place.
Am I missing something?
There is a huge difference between a TSB/Recall and a stop sale.

From everything I have read I have the impression that they have identified a specific range of VINs with this potential problem. I would not be surprised if there is an embargo on selling vehicles in that VIN range until they have been tested or the trannys have been replaced. I wish they would publish the list of VIN numbers so that current owners could check. However, it appears this information may not be available until the January 6th recall. In the interim I am using my parking brake.
Here is an excerpt:
RE: Stop Sale/Safety Recall: 2015 TLX V6 9-speed A/T Parking Gear
On December 3, 2014 Acura notified NHTSA of a Stop Sale order and Safety Recall for approximately 9,500 TLX V6 vehicles. Any new or used vehicles in dealer stock must be repaired prior to sale. Refer to the eResponsibility report or VIN Inquiry status to determine which vehicles in your inventory are affected.

Thanks for the clarification.
First, let me say that I am not in any way trying to down play the seriousness of this issue. Serious injury or death could occur from this.
Second, I am one of those literal guys.. so I see that the info it says "Stop Sale order and Safety Recall for approximately 9,500 TLX V6 vehicles" which means not all affected. I read it to say that Acura has chosen to stop sale on their own of "..certain cars" and let the NHTSA of it.
I was under the impression that Acura stop selling all V6's yet the dealers around here are selling them. In fact, a friend of mine bought a BWP Advance yesterday and nothing was mentioned about it... that is why am confused!
I searched for a recall on this car and only found: THIS ONE

Nearly all cars have recalls; it’s inevitable; mechanical and electronic parts do fail. More important how is failure handled to satisfy the customer?

I went to here : American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Divisions
and it shows the recall under my VIN. There was another Acura recall for the TLX involving a safety certification label showing incorrect weight capacity. My vehicle is not shown as being part of that recall (which is correct).
Does anyone have a TLX with a recent VIN (I bought mine back at the end of August) that does not get the recall to show up on that site above?

I've just bought a SH-ADW Adv (to be picked up next week) and the sales person never mentioned this. I will definitely check the VIN and ask him tomorrow. Here's more info about that recall:
NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: AWAITING#
MFR CAMPAIGN ID: JM8
RECALL DATE: 12/03/2014
RECALL STATUS: Recall INCOMPLETE. Remedy not yet available.
SUMMARY:
AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. (HONDA) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2015 ACURA TLX V6 VEHICLES. DURING MANUFACTURING OF THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT CONTAMINATION MAY GET INTO THE PARKING PAWL OR THE PARK ROD MAY BECOME DISLODGED OR BROKEN, BOTH OF WHICH CAN PREVENT THE TRANSMISSION FROM SHIFTING INTO THE PARK POSITION.
SAFETY RISK:
ALTHOUGH THE SHIFT INDICATOR WILL DISPLAY "PARK", THE PARK LOCK MAY NOT ENGAGE, ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
REMEDY:
HONDA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, FREE OF CHARGE. THE LETTER WILL ALSO INFORM THEM ALWAYS TO ENGAGE THE MANUAL PARKING BRAKE AS A PRECAUTION UNTIL THE INSPECTION CAN BE COMPLETED. BECAUSE THE NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES WOULD HAVE PROVIDED A FREE REPAIR FOR THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED BY THIS RECALL, WITHOUT ANY PAYMENT BY THE OWNER, REIMBURSEMENT FOR PRE-NOTIFICATION REPAIRS WILL NOT BE OFFERED. NOTIFICATION TO CUSTOMERS ABOUT THIS RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON JANUARY 6, 2015. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ACURA CLIENT RELATIONS AT 1-800-382-2238, OPTION 4. HONDA'S CAMPAIGN NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS JM8.

Or it rolled into you. Must be one humongous hunk of dirt to stop that unit from engaging. Maybe the valve body is getting plugged up.

I picked up my V6 Tech on 10/10. I checked my VIN and it says:
RECALL STATUS: Recall INCOMPLETE. Remedy not yet available.
This is the only notice I have.
I always use my parking brake and I'm really not concerned about this. Every manufacturer has recalls. I love my TLX and have no regrets about buying a first-year model. My TL was also a first-year car and I drove it for more than 230K trouble-free miles, only changing the timing belt and fluids. Everything else was OEM!

That dang pawl is what's causing my bounce when I park. Maybe I'll get one that doesn't bounce outta this.

Same here! I THINK that my VIN falls under the recall list but I always use the parking brake anyway, and I have had zero concern about this. If they "fix" it then it's fine but as of right now it does not mean very much to me....

FYI, we've got a bunch under the 'affected' VINs and none of them roll away. Also have a few that are unaffected, so they do exist.
#65
This may be true, but I've never felt anything quite like this bounce. I don't recall my 3G ever doing it - at least not to this extent. A few times I thought the car was rolling back before I realized what was happening. The parking brake solves the issue and it also sounds like a Transformer when you apply it, so there's that added bonus.

Summer is Coming
Plugging in some VINs of V6's in the Houston area it seems the recall ends somewhere in the low to mid 8,000's (VIN numbers I mean) and most cars above 8,500 seem to be not effected. The cars in the low-mid 8,000 vary, some are recalled, some are not. Probably a function of the batch of tranny's from ZF and not the actual point in the production line.

it'll roll back when I let off the brakes, until the little prawl catches.
amazing how that little piece can hold a 2 ton vehicle

Out of curiosity, does yours roll back and catch the gear and stop or does it bounce forward and backward for 1-2 more cycles before coming to a rest? Just odd that I've never felt this on any other car I've owned.
#69
All you have to do is ease your foot off the brake after putting it into park and the "problem" isn't there. I do it in all may cars because I don't like the entire weight of the vehicle banging on one little trans part. The 'bounce' can be more exaggerated in the TLX, but again, I'm not in the habit of rapidly releasing the brake and letting that happen.

Yes, that's what happens when the pawl isn't locked into one of the gear notches-it'll back into the notch. That part I got. But I'm saying I don't recall the car bouncing back and forth after doing so in my previous cars. At least not as frequently as in this one. Just feels weird. I understand the physics of it, but just don't recall having felt the bouncing back and forth before. I feel it on inclines, seemingly flat surfaces, etc. Maybe it's just normal for this car.

Can a mod. fix the title of the OP? It's bothering me.

id rather have honda handle this just like they are instead of ignoring stuff like toyota did in the past.

Oh well. The things you have to go through when you are the first on the block.
Lucky for me since my driveway is sloped, and since I drive a manual also, using the parking brake is a habit for me. It literally makes me cringe when my wife occasionally forgets it, and the car thunks into gear from park.
For the cars affected? any ideas on how exactly this area of the tranny will actually be inspected? Does it need to be dropped?
