Maybe the un-did the modification they put into the 2016 model that reduced the small overlap test results from the 2015 model. Why else would they need to re-test the TLX?

It was reworked, new IIHS small overlap rating for MY2017 is Acceptable, an improvement over MY2016's Marginal rating, and on par with MY2015.

Will be interesting to see if the MY2018 MMC improves upon this, I would imagine regaining IIHS's Top Safety Pick for the TLX is a goal for Acura.

It's impressive how the front crumple zone absorbed so much energy with very little deflection past the A pillar. Still, I did notice that the gas cap cover popped open. Thanks for sharing this.
