2016 tlx
Last Saturday, my Acura salesman checked his latest 2016 TLX info and it did NOT show any changes in the available colors. It's disappointing not to see a real silver.

Acura's constant stupid with marketing will likely cost them 2 cars this year. The gf is looking to trade-in her 14 RDX and I was going to go to a TLX. Did they not learn with 4G Palladium Metallic that the lack of a real silver hurts them in some sales. They would never do that to the Accord because they know it would take a decent number of sales away. They always seem to treat the Acura brand as an experiment in progress.
Wow... that's extreme to completely discount the car from choice simply because of the lack of a specific color. There's plenty of great colors to choose from. I've always driven the car first, decided on what I wanted, then chose color.
If another brand has the specific color & look you want, I don't think there is any compelling reason not to go to the other brand.
I have driven mostly silver cars and that is my desire, I took the gamble on the 4G because I loved the way they car drive, but the beak and Palladium Metallic turned me off, I thought I would get over it and did not. Silver is in the top 3 colors of cars and #1 many years. The article below shows that a large number of customer will pick another car if the car they want is not available in the color they want. There are enough competitive cars that if there is something that turns someone off about a car there are other cars that will fill the gap. Clearly many people place color as a high priority.

Also if you go to trade a car in color is important as the popular colors sell easier, so the dealer even in a private sale you have better chance of getting best money for a car that is desirable.
Acura seems to be willing to gamble with colors on their models and always seems to play with Silver. In the 4G PM was beige looking and the 5G Silver Slate has a blue hue to it, if I wanted beige or blue I would buy beige or blue, but Acura should stop calling these calling these silver. Let them do this to Accord and see where sales numbers go. What is worse, even if I wanted Silver Slate TLX, there has been nothing but black and while TLX AWD Advance in Atlanta area for months, they seem to be pushing black and white.
