Especially that big LCD between the gauges, which makes a lot more sense than cramming two big ones into the center console and trying to design around it (as a result, the current gen Acura consoles look like afterthoughts).
Exterior wise, the TLX wins by a tiny margin with cleaner overall lines and sharper looking LED signatures in the head/tail lamps. With the body kit it's even better, though having one-piece bumpers would be preferable.
I do like how the Maxima's fender humps flow into the body though, Nissan executed that much better than Acura IMO

Now if we could only combine the new Maxima interior, prototype TLX exterior, NSX powertrain, and a 6/7-speed manual we'd have a winner
(not to mention an M3/M4/S4/C63/ATS-V killer)

Another guy I work with who attends every car show in Indianapolis and is a huge car buff told me that he really liked the TLX the more he sees it and he thinks it is a lot sharper than my old car (08 CTS). I still like the looks of my CTS and I agree with you that it's one of those cars that will turn heads, but the more I see the 2 cars side by side, the more I really like the looks of my TLX.
In closing, I love that there are hundreds of cars to choose from which allows us to have a diverse selection, but not everyone will agree on what is stylish and what is ugly. To me, that's what's so nice about the cars we can buy.

^^ Well, take it from a middle aged skinny French guy that thinks the TLX with a body kit looks pretty darn sexy! I think you have stated it very well when you said that it is purely subjective and what makes this forum interesting - We all have different opinion on what we feel looks good.

Silly to compare the Maxima and the TLX, the Maxima has never been an attractive car and the new model is no different, just my opinion...
With a starting MSRP of $32,400 they will sell as many of these as they did the prior generation, not to mention a horrible resale value.
I've owned every TL Acura has produced and in my opinion the TLX is the best version to date in many respects, a great car period.
Prefect maybe not but very well executed, I enjoy it every time I get behind the wheel...

BTW, I think it looks pretty hot without the body kit, as do many of the McDonalds drive-thru kids that serve me.

You seem to think that everyone wants a "big engine" on their cars. I f the car has a 4 cyl is no good, and sales of it should not count. Not everybody is a fan of the type of "cars in your household".

The performance cars are generally the top of the line image cars that can showcase the brands technological capabilities but don't sell in big volumes.
The more bread & butter cars sold the more excess profits to develop & build the lower volume play cars.
Personally since my first car in 1959 most of my buys have been on the performance side but things like 4 cyl Volvo station wagons have also been in the family.
