2015 tlx acceleration problem
 

My car is a v6 awd with 144K miles. I was driving and all of the lights on the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree and the car didn’t want to accelerate until I floored it then it slam the lower gear.cruising at light throttle is when you can feel like the car is stuck at 20 even when flooring it.No check engine light or codes. I’ve read that it could be the battery so I changed the battery and still the same symptoms? My question for you guys is there a pedal position sensor on the tlx? Has anyone experience this? Sorry if this was discussed before. I did search but only found third generation tl discussions.

Yes there is a pedal positioning sensor. It is located right underneath the pedal pad.

Better get that checked out soon. Sounds like you went into limp mode - it was that serious. A bad battery shouldn't cause a slam-in-lower gear situation. All recalls performed and what is the transmission service history?

There are also fuel pump and rod bearing recalls on the 2015 as well. First year model grief...

Quick update: so the symptoms disappeared after I switched over the battery (knock on wood). Thanks y’all for your advice.
