2015 TLX 2.0 Base vs 2014 ILX 2.0 Tech
I'm in the market for a new vehicle and have pretty much narrowed it down to Acura. I have a couple of options and was wondering if the community could throw some pros and cons at me.
I've narrowed it down to the two basically. My main question is... will I feel it at the pump with the TLX being 500lbs more?
2015 TLX 4cyl Base - 42,769km - $22,600 OR 2015 TLX 4cyl Tech - 38,000km - $24,400
2014 ILX 2.0 Tech - 60,198km - $16,800
(both are Automatic)
Is it worth the $5,600? Or should I take the ILX?

The universal answer to anyone asking if they should get a ILX is NO. That has to be the worst Acura branded vehicle to ever exist. Though the changes for 2016 (styling, suspension, engine and TRANSMISSION) on the ILX make it much much better. I’ve had numerous ILX’s as loaners ranging from the hybrid, to the 2.0 auto, to the 2.4 with the 8 speed dual clutch. Really really disliked the hybrid and 2.0 but the 2016 with the dual clutch was just ok.
The TLX IMHO is a much nicer car, however you need to be aware of transmission issues with early TLX’s (2015 and some 2016). There has been numerous people needing to have a complete transmission swap due to issues. So make sure on your test drives that you try multiple scenarios like highway, stop and go, accelerating hard...etc. You know just give it a really good run through.
Sidenote: You mentioned KMs, so I’m guessing you are in Canada? Where in Canada if you don’t mind me asking.
