wheels to go with midnight chrome grill?
Hey,,
I am on the board a lot reading on everyones ideas, great board.
I am planning a purchase of the 2010 WDP SH-AWD with underbody kit, and midnight chrome grille.
Im not sure how the 18" stock wheels (alloy) will look with this, I am thinking that chrome wheels will go the best. I cant upgrade to the HP 19" wheels cause need all season tires here in chicago.
I am not sold on the 18" chrome 10 spoke wheels on the acura site, although have not seen a good pic of them on the tl(if anyone has a pic could you let me know)
Any ideas for wheels to complete the package would be greatly aprreciated.
Cant wait to get this car, and i just wanted have it all planned out.
thanks all

The 18" chrome Acura Wheels you're refering to also come in a 19" variety I believe. Check those out. If you order them separate from any number of Acura product selling companies (dealerships are too expensive) then you won't have to get the Michelin Sport Cup tires, which are the summer ones you fear. You can find good all-weather 19" tires anywhere.
Also, if you want wheels that match the midnight chrome grills, use a search engine to find wheels with the description "black chrome" or "dark chrome." You'll find wheels that have a darker under-surface that is not exhuberantly bright like regular chrome.
Or you could try for a more subdued effect and not go completely chrome. Type in "TSW Wheels Willow Silver" into a search engine and look at those. The Willow series comes in black, bronze and silver, but the silver has a nice chromed lip.

First of all, the bolt pattern from 3rd gen to 4th gen isn't the same, and second of all, a 245 series tire on the 17" TL-S rim? WOW! I highly doubt you can fit higher than a 225 series, and that's pushing it!

Yup, I'll have to agree, even with my limited knowledge of wheels and tires, a 17" rim would be a 50 sidewall... which would look pretty bad... to much tire.
Putting a 245-40-17 on this car would put your speedo off by about 8%.
The wheel wells are huge on this car, putting 17's on this car would be a crime. Even 19's look small on this car....
