What to expect with 19's

hey guys,

After checking 17" tire prices, it seems that they are pretty close to 18/19" tire prices so I would like to get some input from the forum as to how different the 19s are going to feel. I generally prefer comfort over sport but after being on the 17s, I can use a little more sport (and a lot more style) if the tire prices are going to be that similar (according to tirerack.com).

Can those with 18/19s comment on how the ride is going to change? Will the 19s tenderize the a$$ of those who are on board? I have a TL tech so I would think that the softer suspension may compensate for the bigger rims.

Thanks!

The car 4G will swallow wheels. Take a look at AcuraGoddess' 4G on 22s in this same forum.

I did a back-to-back drive of all 3 factory wheel sizes when I was shopping and ultimately went with the 19s. I have the SH-AWD so our suspension is different plus I have summer rubber; my ride is definitely taut but generally smooth and composed over most surfaces. I avoid old roads with broken pavement whenever I can as it really upsets the suspension and ride quality just gets flat out harsh. I think 19s would accomplish your goals

I have the 19" Acura upgrade rims on my 4G TL Tech. I replaced the original stock rims/tires with those and I am so glad that I did. The 17" rims look too small on the car...so the 19's and low profile tires compliment it well. About the ride...you will feel a few more bumps in the road, but it will definitely give you a more "sports car" feel. I cannot tell a difference in road noise whatsoever...the car is quite no matter what. I would encourage you to go with the 18 or 19" rims and lower profile tires....you wont be disappointed....
