im pretty sure it is safe.. never heard of bead coming off a wheel.. take into account that drifters do this and they beat the shit out of their tires sliding sideways and bead still stays on.. you should do some research on it.

Potz go lookup "drift blowout" on youtube, those guys get constant blowouts. The fact that drifters do this to aid in the loss of traction is warning enough for me. Also if youre looking to make points regarding safety, drifters arent the crowd I'd ever reference lol unless we are talking rollcages.

I highly doubt rustyz is going to be drifting in the TL. He'll be fine. Curbs and potholes are his only enemy.

Set up looks spot on as is. You could go lower but I like it were its out now. I wouldn't say it's sunken either. The tire yes due to the stretch but that's it. Love the final product.

Its true that i drive a lot slower and trying to dodge pole holes but here in vancouver the streets are pretty good...

As for tire ware, that im screwed either way... I think if i had to get new tires i would get 255 but just because to fill the space more. The stretch is nice as it makes the rims bigger but dam TIENs.. need to go lower.

Your stretch is safe. Just make sure you keep the PSI's up and you'll be just fine.

you know there is a difference between completely blowing out a tire and just having it come off the bead. my point being is these drifters beat their tires up, yes they do have tire blowouts but that is not due to the tire coming off the wheel but due to being wear down too much to where it just blows up.

these guys are pushing their cars.. on a real life day to day driving you wont even get close to what they do.. i wouldnt worry too much about it.. ive seen 225 on a 10.5 drive all the way up to san francisco from la with zero issues.. and he does this trip once a month.. only bad part is that he has to flip tires/change tires alot

When a tire unbeads at speed it will often act/look the same as a blowout. We'll just have to agree to disagree because I'll never be convinced a stretch like that is safe.

Haha I wish I had air too... and I talked with my mechanics guys and apparently I can put lowering springs into the coilover to make the front lower so I might just do that...

This car seems like a never ending process... so much work just to get the perfect fitment....

Bored and took some more pics.

Pushed the rims up to see if I rub but still got about 2mm.

stretching tires can cause tread separation. sidewalls are not designed to be stretched.
drifters burn the rubber off pretty quickly vs daily driving, where you could be doing 10x the mileage on the same set of tires (not usually likely since many in this scene would also run a lot of camber).

Just got my wheels. Curious to know if you're running camber kit and what lugs you went with? Also are you running 35 series tires?

Very clean sir!

Hi, thanks for the comments..

I am not running a camber kit as it fits just right.. and yes I am running 35 series tires. If i had a choice i would run 255 instead of 245 as it seems i had more room than i had anticipated... The ride is nice though i do park about a foot away from the curb..

what did you do with the bumper tab that attaches to to quarter panel? or did it not come in the way?

I know this topic has probably came up a million times but is there any creative ways to add a lip to this car (on top of the stock kit)? I don't really like how the front rounds back up for the stock kit. I've been looking at the new mercedes Eclass and they have a nice chrome lip, too bad we can't retro fit that to our car somehow.
