Tires

Need help I have a 2013 Acura TL SH AWD with Michelin Pilot hx mxm4 tires that came with the car (all season) . Just want to be safe for the winter and not ruin the stock rims what is a good cheap brand tire that gets awsome traction in the winter? The tire size I have now is p245/45r18 tec pak tire size. I looking at Blizzaks, Michelin Ice, ect.... dont know what to get those tires cost $$$ but better safe than sorry

what part of the country do you live in? You'll have to pay to have the michelin's swapped out for the snow tires and then back to them once winter is over. It might be a good idea to buy another set of wheels to put snow tires on.

OR

You could go with the Continental DWS tires. They have gone through 2ft. of snow on tirerack's testing and are great in wet and dry conditions. This way you don't have to pay for a different set to be mounted and removed + storage of the tires.

I live in New Hampshire and have a 15 mile commute well total 30 miles back and forth to work on back roads. So I should buy 4 steel rims plus 4 of these tires and im good to go what about the tpms . People are saying I should get 17 inch tire because it would be cheaper.

I for one, would want to be safe first and foremost.

I would get a pair of stock rims and put a dedicated winter tire on the them.
within reasonable budget of course.

but would never compromise safety to save a few bucks.

or you could just swap tires every season
