Tein Coilovers now available for FWD

I assisted with this testing a while ago, and Tein has finally placed them on their website. Basic and SuperStreet coilovers are available.

under the new application section.

Would you care to give us some driving impressions about them or some pictures with the wheels on and off?

Sure...

Driving impressions: I had eibach springs on prior to my superstreet coilovers and I worked with Tein because 1. I like free shit, 2. I wanted to be able to raise or lower my ride height, as I was rubbing in the rear with my eibachs. I also felt that my eibach set up was somewhat bumpy and the option to dial in my dampening with the superstreet model was appealing.

Tein gave me my car back with the front and rear settings both set on 8, which I believe is the setting for the Tein Basic coilover setup. Immediatley I felt a difference in the ride comfort between the eibach and tein setup. The teins were far less bumpy and handeling seemed to be improved when cornering. Recently I have been doing much more freeway driving and I-405 is a terrible freeway here in Socal. The ride had become rather uncomfortable when commuting from San Diego to Long Beach, so last week I changed the dampening settings from 8 in front and rear. To 13 in rear, 11 in front. Its amazing how much smoother the ride quality is with those adjustments. Its now the closest I have been to the stock setup.

I also added the Progress rear-sway bar, and imo this is the biggest bang for the buck value. The cornering ability of this addition is insane.

Adjusting the ride height with the Tein tool is extremely easy, and if I had better offsets on my wheels, I could go a lot lower. I plan on adding the EDFC unit soon, which will allow me to electronically change the dampening force. I would like the ride to be more firm when driving in the city, and on the soft setting i have now when on the freeway.

I am terrible at putting pictures on here, but I will post some pics this weekend . I dont have any with the wheel off, but I will post some with the wheel on.

I hope this helps.

not to my knowledge, I am sure they will do something eventually. Might depend on how well the FWD system sells.

Pics are very similar to what the 04-08 TL is. We can start taking orders for these now that they are on TEIN's website. PM us for pricing.
