Springs/wheels/tires HELP 4G AWD

Hello to all...

First off thanks in advance.

Here is my issue and YES I have read hundreds of posts to try and find the answer.

1) I want drop my car (drop not slam) slight drop to get rid of the huge gap that Honda/Acura seems to always have. I am torn between H&R 1" drop or Tein S 1.5" drop. I still want ride and such (I'm 55 and am well past the slammed stage)

2) with the above springs (NO I'm not adding coils) I want to shove 20" rims/tires under there that will fill the wheel wells without needing to roll the fenders or any rubbing. Torn between 245/35 & 255/35 tires was going to go with 245/40/20 before I decided on the springs.

My biggest question is what springs with the largest tires I can shove under there. I have a 2012 SH-AWD Advance w/19" 245/45 tires on it now but I just added the body kit yesterday and now want a little lower look to the car.

Please no flames, I plan on keeping this car for about two more years and have been shopping and can't understand why Honda/Acura doesn't offer "sport" options such as suspension (ok Honda HFP) and exhaust like most of the others.

Thanks again

The size tires you can fit will largely depend on what offset the wheels are and whether or not you're open to rolling the fenders. Generally speaking, you can run a 255/35R20 on a +45 offset wheel without rolling your fenders. On a +35 offset wheel, a 255 is typically going to either rolling the rear fenders or dealing with some slight rubbing over big dips/bumps or with passengers in the back seats. A 245/35R20 will fit either offset without any fender modifications.

I don't want to roll fenders so the 245/35 sounds like a better match, now with that being said will they work with the TEIN 1.5 drop or will I need to go with the H&R 1" drop?

The wheels I'm looking at are Enkei Lusso +40

also what is stock offset?

OP I believe I just emailed you back. Personally I believe the H&R springs would be the best option in this instance. They're a comfortable ride and a 1" ride will be on the safer side for a 20" wheel.

Another key factor you need to consider is rim width. I'd stick to a conservative size in your case 20x8.5-20x9 max.

Thanks to all... pulled the trigger H&R springs Acura is going to install them for $500 w/alignment (called the Honda dealer and Acura matched the price)

Also pulling the trigger on the Enkei Lusso +40 w/ Continental DWS 06 245/35 tires

Now can't wait for spring... Ohio here so the wheels will just sit for two months while I drool on them!

I don't mean to dis anybody but I don't get it. (?)
If you have 245x30x20" tires the overall height of the tire on the wheel is 26.8". The stock tires on a base model TL are 245x50x17" which are 26.6" tall. I realize the wheel/tire combo looks different but the overall ht. difference is 0.2" . You are spending thousands (?) of dollars to get a wheel/tire combo that is 0.2" taller?

245/30R20's are 25.8" in diameter. When changing wheel/tire sizes, the idea is to fit different size wheels while keeping the overall diameter close to stock, not to increase the overall tire size. Popular tire sizes and OEM sizes for the 4G are as follows:

245/50R17: 26.6"
245/45R18: 26.7"
245/40R19: 26.7"
245/35R20: 26.8"
245/35R20: 27.0"

Currently I'm running 245/45/19 with stock suspension, closes the wheel well gap a bit and gives a decent ride

Going to run 245/35 w/1" drop so will close the gap by about 1.5" and yes, spending $2200 wheels/tires/springs/install but need new tires anyway

I'll sell my 19" diamond cuts on here after I put on the new 20's, nice thing is I run 18" snows in the winter so it's taken me 4yrs to wear out a set of tires

so I'm guessing someone will pay me $750ish for 19's w/tires & TPMS, I needed tires anyway so I am spending about $1000ish for new wheels/tires/springs plus I just spent $800 on a body kit...better than spending it on hookers & beer, then again I like those things too!

How much lower will the car be once the springs set? I'm looking to drop my car about an inch. Don't want to get too close to 1.5" drop when things are set. Thanks

Typically the drop they list is the estimated drop after they settle. I wouldn't expect them to settle any more than .1 or .2 past that.

Installed today... PERFECT! Just the right amount of drop and ride is "stiffer" but not harsh

I'm glad I did it and will post pix once I put the 20's on, looks like crap w/snow tires and snow all over it
