SH 18" Wheels - Powder Coat Black?

Hi guys. New to forum as a new owner of a 2011 Palladium/Ebony SH AWD. When purchasing my car I was looking at a HPT version that was on the showroom floor at my dealer. It was Palladium with Black HPT Wheels, but sold through before I was ready to buy. The only SHAWD I could find was without HPT, but I can't stop thinking about how those black wheels looked with the Palladium. Has Anyone on this forum Powder Coated the stock AWD 18" wheels black?
I have searched the forum, but can't seem to find anyone who has done this??

Thanks.

Well, I was intent to get the SH Wheels done in black and worked with a guy locally to Powder Coat them and paint the center caps Gloss Black. I realize the wheels aren't for everyone, but I'm quite happy with the way they turned out. Check out some before and after pics below.

Without tint those wheels would look way out of place on that color 4G.

Nice. I actually like the look of all black wheels. But I only think it works on silver or white cars.

I agree with the posters above (I also have a palladium AWD/tech), the wheels look out of place without a dark tint and more aggressive stance/look (try aero kit?). I also few as if black wheels look better on white cars.

I'm glad you posted these pics though as I was considering powdercoating my 19" oem 5spokes in glossy black!

Not bad, I'm not a huge fan of black wheels either (ironically) OR of painted stock wheels. But I will say it hides the dirt really well and looks good on your car. Getting it lowered would help a LOT!

Didn't they have 2 versions of those wheels. Thye had a the bright silver version and a darker gunmetal version. Maybe you can go for those instead?

That's like him coming home with an Asian adopted baby and you saying he probably could have gotten a different race.

Ha ha...he asked opinions but he painted them rather quickly afterward. Lowering the car will make it look amazing...

Never really liked ALL black wheels. To me they are too non descript.

I just don't like this look. Looks like the rims are too big for the tire. Is that really safe? And you want to talk about curb rash!!

That looks sick! I've always been a fan of black wheels. How long did it take to get your wheels back?

I have the HPT wheel on my palladium 6mt with factory kit, thinking about doing the same. But i am not sure what the wheels will look like in black since the HPT wheels are different.

Hey guys thanks for comments. I realize the wheels are not for everyone, but I like them.

I had them done at Powder Coat shop in San Juan Capistrano. I took the car in that morning and it was done late that afternoon. They handled taking the tires off, then remounting, balancing, etc. Cost was $400 for everything.

Next, I think I'd like to get the grill and rear trim piece painted Palladium to match the car.

lol @ asian baby comment..

not my cup of tea, but quality looks good. 2 things that I think would set it off: 1. black lugs (like OEM S2000 CR lugs) 2. a reverse colored Acura "A" on the cap, maybe to match the silver paint?

It looks good.

If it was up to me, I'd probably would've have them powdercoated in a dark gunmetal color.

YOUR car, YOUR rims... as long as YOU walk out each day and like the look of your car who cares what others think

Personally, I like black wheels and have put them on quite a few of my cars. My snows are always on black rims also.
