Rotiform on TL

Just purchased a 2010 TL earlier this week. Already looking into suspension and wheels. Debating on doing a full airride setup or Tein SS. Either way I was wondering if you guys think this wheel setup will fit on the TL.

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/par...rm-wheels.html

I've had several sets of Rotiforms and I love their products. Currently have a set of BLQ 3 piece but they're 5x112...I dont know if redrilling will look right and the rears are 11" so spacers are out of the question.

I wouldnt pay more than 3800 SHIPPED. You can get brand new Works wheels cheaper than that. With the correct hub bore size.

Those offsets are perfect. Just run a 245/35 rear...225/35 front.

I went ahead and took your advice. You were right...DPE, HRE, and Work all go for 2k-3k. Anyway, hope you're right about them fitting on the car. I just ordered a set of DPE's 20x9 +24 front and 20x10.5 +24 for the rear. Will post pics of a mock-up when they arrive.

Nice! Which DPE's did you go with?

Funny how they have the same wheels as VIP Modular for 2-2,500 less.

Smart choice my friend.

DPE S10. Think I'll need a lot of fender work with the +24 all around offset

Not up front. They will fit without even rolling fenders.

Out back just a fender roll.

i wouldnt take mikes advice to run a 225 up front.. just saying, your steering will go to shit, i prefer to atleast run a 245.. you get more contact with the ground..

left side is a 245/35/20.. and right is 225/35/20.. bad idea to run that skinny of a tire on a fwd..

Where do you come up with these opinions from?! 225 do what to your steering exactly? A lot of member's here and myself have been running 225's for a long time now. You realize with a 245 your contact patch puts more stress on your steering and driveline components.

The 225's do not compromise on any traction since the contact patch only changes minutely. Switching to a 245 on a rim that's 8 inches wide will cause the tire to roll during hard cornering shifting your contact patch giving you an inconsistent steering feel.

Why do you think drifter's stretch tires on their wheels. Gives a more direct feel and less sidewall flex. Please stop spreading misinformation based off untested opinions. This isn't an attack on you but the lack of fact in your post.

drifters stretch on a smaller wheel.. they run correct psi to get their contact patch going. what you said was true, it does give better response.. but for vip wheels, it is different.

vip wheels require higher psi so that it is less prone to bends.. around 40-42psi..

higher psi = stiffer tire = smaller contact patch thus resulting in sloppy steering response not to mention a stiffer ride.

i have had the set up that mike recommended, running at 40 psi so i have had first hand experience.. up till now my car still does not steer as well as my stock wheels.

now if op was to not run at high psi like he should then you are correct..

this is not misinformation. it is first hand experience.

You're right. I thought you made a blanket statement about 225's in general. For wheels that wide it wouldn't do the job. For a stock rim however it would be fine.

My bad. I apologize for that!

Have the wheels arrived yet? The fronts should fit no problem, but the rear specs are very aggressive. You might need to flare the rear fenders out unless you plan on running ridiculous camber.

i agree, the rears are cutting it pretty close.. mine is 9.5 +12 with a 255 in the rear and im cutting it pretty close to the fender and i have my rears shaved.. you might need to do a slight camber and shave or a really really snug roll.

vildur, no problem..

btw, nyc has one some of the worse roads ive ever been on

Sorry for the inactivity...been real busy at work. I never purchased these wheels. I purchased a set of DPE S10's with some pretty aggressive specs. Looking to rebarrel them by the end of the year. They are currently 20x10.5 and 9 et12. Swapped the faces and just need to rebarrel the rears. Going with 9.5 in the rears with an ET of 24 front n back pretty close to what Pot has on his setup. I really wanted to go aggressive on the rears but since it's my daily driver and like Pot said NYC streets arent the best....I decided to take it easy. Will update as soon as I get some time on my hands to install the Teins and buy the lips. Pics of the wheels on my other thread.
