Rear camber kit needed?

Putting on tein street advance and planning on dropping it 1.5-2" to get the tires to fender. Can anybody confirm if I need rear camber kit t get the alignment in spec?

SPC has a three arm kit which is about $400 for the pair and ingalls has ball join and arm kit for $300 for the pair.

Just trying to figure out if I should get these or not.

Get the 3-arm kit, the balljoint kit sucks, and yes you'll almost certainly need a rear kit to stay within spec with a 1.5-2" drop.

Yes with a 1.5-2" drop you will want a rear camber kit. The SPC 3 arm kit can adjust + or - 3 degrees of camber and is available for $211.98 per side, so you'll want to order a quantity of 2.

Good job sig, I can tell you that I tried to make due without a rear kit and it was a horrible mistake, I ended up ruining all my tires and they have horrible tire roar now.

Yeah, paying $400 for a camber kit is hard to swallow, but better than ruining $1400 tires.

Not hitting the fenders right now, but got the fenders rolled last night so that when i correct the camber, it won't hit.

I don't think I agree with the "ball joint kit sucks" statement there... there are pros and cons to both kits...

Care to share, I've always heard the ballpoint kits are junk. I have the spc kit and can say it's a solid quality kit.

They're a pain in the ass to adjust and keep them there on the rack (in my experience). I'd like to hear his input as well.

I'd written two articles on the matter... see here:

For camber rear kits, avoid parts with aftermarket ball-joints.

Just to piggyback on this thread, would I need a rear camber kit for a 1" drop?

Depends.
you shouldnt. but since camber is not adjustable and if its out of spec, the only way to get it into spec is getting a camber kit.

remember, every one's set up WILL BE DIFFERENT, so there is NO ONE SIZE FITS ALL advice.
it also depends on how you want the alignment set up....
if you want it in spec from the factory, or if you would like to ADD camber.

so, there are tons of different variables that affect your question....
the best advice is to;
- lower the vehicle
- get an alignment
- asses situation.
- if needs camber, add camber kit

My advice, get an alignment first and if you're within spec then don't get it. For our cars, anything under -1.8 degrees is acceptable. You can go back and get another alignment free of charge after the camber kit is installed.

I have Firestone lifetime alignment. I just hope they don't deny my ass if I get coilovers.

What shop were you referring to?

They shouldn't deny you. When mine was on coilovers they never said no. Haven't been back since I went air but I'm going to soon.

Firestone in my area (Wichita ks) wanted $180 for an alignment. They said I couldn't get their lifetime alignment either since I'm dropped on coilovers. So I think it varies region to region.
