Painted rotors on WDP - Questions

I have a 2009 TL SH-AWD in WDP.

I have debated about painting my calipers. I have a few questions for those who have done it = and have suggestions.

I did paint calipers on a prior car...so I kind of know what to expect...but I wanted to get some new opinions. If I do paint my calipers, I plan to go with the glossy epoxy paint like G2...

1) what color would most of you recommend for WDP cars? anyone have photos to post?

I do not think I want to go nuts and have red or blue...or some other loud color. I am 42... I like modded cars..but don't want my car to look cheap or ricey. I think bright red would look great on a 911 Carrera S..but not necessarily on my TL.

I was thinking of maybe black? color matching them white might look ok, but i'd have to see that..since my car is pearl..painting them white would probably end up looking off and not matching right, so I"m not so sure... black is kind of neutral. or maybe gray / carbon??

2) as far as how I paint it.. when I did my last car, i never even took the caliper off. I just taped off / masked everything, and painted it with a brush. my former car wa a boxster..wiht huge brembo style calipers... it had large flat surfaces and I would up with drips and some clumpy areas....but you really could only tell when you were down on the ground on your hands and knees looking at it. from 3' away, it looked glossy and beautiful.. so my plan would be to do the same thing. leave brakes on, and patin them while on the car. the brakes are not as beefy..and I"m assuming that since there are less huge surface, i might actually get a more smooth , less clump surface.

the caliper covers to me look kind of cheesy so I am passing on those

as to colors.. I saw one guy here who painted his calliopes this almost subtle purple color... no idea what it was called or where he got it.. but i'm open to suggestions on what color would look nice on aWDP car.

in a perfect world..when funds pick up, I could see myself doing vessels in a gray type color...maybe doing my calipers in that color?

post up pics of painted calipers if you have them.

thanks guys.

Do you have the stock rims?

Most people probably wouldn't paint the calipers, as the first choice.

If it's something you really want to do, I would go with a neutral color, like copper or a dark bronze. Those colors play pretty well with WDP.

I went with black and think it looks good with the WDP. I was thinking red or yellow like the CTS-V but didnt think it would look good with these calipers. BBK in those colors is a different story.

I agree, IMO standard calipers look best in Silver, Gray or Black.. BBK, Brembo's etc look good in colors...

BTW nice wheels

I had mine painted black on the OEM 19's (but mine was GLM not white). I really liked the clean look over my rusty looking calipers...

On darker color cars, yellow stands out too much, red is ok,

On lighter color cars, red stands out a lot, yellow is good.

And black works will all cars - IMO.

Love the way the black calipers looks on JWhites WDP. To me bright colors on OEM brakes just looks a little out of place.

How did you attach the RDX covers to the front calipers?

What does the part in bold mean? And, what year RDX covers, or does it matter?

I found the part number for the RDX caliper cover
front: 45218-TX4-A00 COVER, CALIPER

On the RDX only the front have the Acura caliper cover. The rear don't have the Acura logo on it. Painting it black would be best look I think. Especially to match the caliper cover.
