New 19" wheels, Eibach, rolled fenders

Wheels... 19" x 8" MSW Type 16 Titanium mirror finish, 34 mm offset.
Tires...... 245/40-19 Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110

I went back and forth on the kind of wheels I wanted. I like the mesh wheels, but didn't want to clean them. My favorite wheels are some of the Vossen's, but too expensive. Anyhow, Tirerack was having a sale on the MSW's and while they are not my first choice for $69 each I couldn't pass them up. I figure I'll run them for a while and if I don't like them, I didn't loose much. But actually after getting them, I really do like them. The finish is unique and I think it goes with the car. Tirerack was hesitant to sell them to me since they are listed for a BMW 335i, but I told him I was rolling my fenders and others had installed more offset than this.

They did not rub at all with the stock ride height, but would have rubbed a little, just barely when lowered. So a friend (who had the tool) and I rolled the fenders. We rolled them a little more than was necessary, but they came out nice. His bmw is so low and the wheels so tight to the fenders that you cannot get a pinkie finger between the tire and fender. It looks badass and doesn't rub. Bimers are amazing for wheel fitment if done right. I did not want mine that low and was only aiming for a nice drop and still have drivability on any kind of street, which I pretty much think is the case, except for entering my driveway which has to be done at an angle now. The mud flaps hit when I drop off onto the street and I now scrape a little of the exhaust underneath. Well, I guess the wife is not driving it!

The install went fairly well, except I hadn't worked on the TL before and did not have any instructions or manual, which is unusual for me, since I'm pretty detailed oriented, but I figured it couldn't be too complicated. I pretty mechanically inclined, having rebuilt the entire motor in my 95 SHO, and dissembled the transmission and installed a Quaife LSD. But, it wasn’t without trouble. Looking at the front suspension it seemed as though you had to undue the top ball joint and steering tie rod to move the suspension assembly out of the way, which I did on one side until I realized that if you simply take off the wheel, take out the pinch bolt on the strut and the bolt that holds the lower fork part of the strut, it will drop down and out of the car without having to disassemble anything else. So after fighting with the one side for probably 1-2 hours the second side took literally 15 mins to change the spring. The backs were pretty straight forward.

Here are some pictures...

Also, I painted the rotors in a high temp "cast coat iron" color to blend better with the wheels. I'm thinking of painting the calipers in the same color to maybe make them fade into the background instead of standing out, since they aren't anything to look at anyhow.

Local auto parts store. Duplicolor high temp paint with ceramic. http://www.duplicolor.com/products/engine.html I used the "cast coat iron" color because of the wheel color, but I usually use the "cast coat aluminum" and it makes it look factory. Don't use the 1200 degree one that says "aluminum" because it is too bright and looks cheap.

Thanks. I actually like yours better, but they were more than I wanted to spend. My friend who has BBS LM's, ~$1200 each... Razzes me a little because they are "cheap". And I agree they are, but for some reason I get a chuckle out of wheels that cost less than brake pads!

What's the name of the tool you used to bend the wheel well? It's a cool tool.

I used the same tool to roll my friend's fenders and will be using them once I get my wheels. Good job!

Those are good looking wheels. Did I read properly when you said the wheels were $69/each???

Yes, $69 each, but I just checked on Tirerack and now I can't find them. I looked them up under a 2008 BMW 335i coupe. Tirerack does not recommend them for the Acura because of the low 34mm offset. Also, they did not provide hub centric rings, which I could care less. The bolt pattern is the same and the lugs are acorn style, so they center the wheel without any problems. I'm simply careful when mounting and equally work my way up to an ultimate torque on the lugs of 80-90 ft.lbs. while the wheel is still jacked up.

I gotta tell ya... im jealous... i like the look of the Eibach Drop, more then the H&R Drop that I have on the AWD....

Hopefully, Koni will make adjustable shocks for our car soon

Nope, nothing in the trunk. I was going to measure the height different and completely forgot. I forget what Eibach quotes for the drop, something like 1.2", but I think it is way lower than that. It's low enough that you have to be carefull and thinking depending on where you are. I was going downhill coming out of a mall and there was a dip in the road at the light and the whole front end black plastic air thingy scraped big time. My wife about flips out. lol! The front mud flaps are really low also and drag going out of my driveway.

The ride is ok, but on a long trip, it can get kinda annoying. On a really smooth road, it's great, but on back roads and dips, it's very quick up/down and jiggly. Hard for the wife to sleep, bouncing her head off the headrest. <hey that sounds kinda kinky.

When I get a chance, I'll measure from the ground to the center lip of the fender and see what the measurment is.

H&R Claimed 1.4F 1.3R for the AWD. I would say, its pretty spot on

those eibachs, on the 4G's that ive seen, all look MUCH lower. I would say thats about 1.5~ish all around
